My wife and I booked this hotel for 3 nights in the first half of october.
The hotel is really nice and well maintained. Marsala is 20 minutes far by car and so is Trapani.
Dora at the frontdesk is very helpful: ask her for restaurants and everything you need to know to spend some good days around Marsala.
The restaurant of the hotel is ok, perfect if you want a high level quality without moving your car.
Three nice days, we'll get back soon.

This is a beautiful hotel. The setting overlooking the coastal plain towards the Agadi Islands is truly lovely. The rooms are of a high standard with the ones with balconies overlooking the pool being very peaceful and spacious.
The restaurant served excellent food (breakfasts and dinners) though it isn't particularly cheap. It was my birthday whilst there and they set aside a special table and brought me a special dessert with a candle without my husband asking for it.
The pool was a little cold but it is clean and big and the grounds are well maintained. All the staff were very friendly and most spoke reasonable or good English. You will need a hire car as it's a way from anywhere but there's plenty of parking and reception can organise a car for you at a very competitive rate.

One small point - the PC's with internet connections in the reception area leave a little to be desired!

All in all to be thoroughly recommended.

Room Tip: Go for one overlooking the pol or coastal plain. The rooms at the back are a bit disappointing in co...

We spent a week here in October and a very good week it was too. It is not too hard to find if you use a combination of website directions and research thoroughly before you arrive! Our Gamin sat nav helped and worked well in Sicily. The Baglio is very isolated, no possibility of evening strolls or walking to nearby restaurants, but is fairly close to a good road system and has fabulous views of the coast, Erice, the Egardi islands etc. Apart from the room noise, it is a very peaceful place to stay.
All was clean, rooms cleaned daily., fresh towels daily, lots of hot water, a kettle and tea making items in room, free, if slow, wifi in rooms, efficient air con. Also 2 public computers in reception, free usage. There is limited storage in the rooms for 2 people for a week, one of us lived out of our suitcase and because we had to leave stuff on the floor, it must make the cleaners job quite tricky. All floors are tiled and all chairs have metal legs. We were on the ground floor meaning that the noise of feet and moving metal chair legs were very noisy. We would suggest that the owners of the Baglio spend a night or two in one of their downstairs rooms, with guests above and with a weeks luggage to experience the noise and the space issues for themselves.
Because of the isolation we booked half board, food is plentiful and good. But and this is a huge BUT, the menu does not change. Ever! For a 4* hotel this is something that needs addressing by the owners as many people were staying here for more than a couple of days. Meanwhile the restaurant staff ( really excellent, welcoming, thoughtful, hardworking people) are doing a sterling job by allowing long stay guests to choose from the a la carte menu. BUT, this menu already includes most of the half board menu, is limited in itself and also doesn't change! We were looking forward to experiencing the variety of Sicilian food that we had read so much about and found this disappointing. It seems such a shame to be surrounded by fields of olives and fabulous green vegetables such as cavolo nero, to hear about special cous cous dishes, but not actually experience them in the restaurant...Eating outside in the courtyard is so very beautiful.

The pool, the staff and the views are fabulous and we had an excellent week. If the owners of the Baglio sort out the inflexible menu and the room noise issues this would be an almost perfect place to stay.

Room Tip: Always ask for a high room due to the noise of metal chair legs and feet on tiled floors!!

After visiting the capital and the south of the island , we arrived in our last stay. As i said verre hard to find, even with gps (Garmin). But what a jewel of peace and good and friendly staff. Restaurant was magnificant. We enjoyed the italian way of slow food and wines. Good prices on the winelist. Rooms were keeped verry clean and tidy. Though the bathroom was small we still recommend à superior room, those are the only ones with à view on the surrounding vineyards and sea with the Islands. We especially enjoyed the staff in the restaurant, with the headpursor on top. À Guy with knowledge and human intrest!

Room Tip: Take the superior rooms and half board. U won't regret it! Higher levels have scenery, otters do...

Built around an old 18th century tower, the Baglio Oneto is a really descent hotel and deserve It's 4 star status. With amazing views on the superb town of Erice (to visit absolutely), vineyards, sea and the Islands in front of Trapani and Marsala, the estate is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves and inside you will find very well kept plants, flowers and trees. There is also a lovely and very clean swimming pool from which you can see the panoramic view. Even the smaller rooms were spacious, and came with a small balcony with 2 chairs ready for an aperitivo in front of one of the best sunset in Sicily (do ask for a room with sea view). It is a big hotel but everywhere was spotless. The staff was also really helpful and there to answers your every needs. Because of it secluded location It is very quiet, even with the airport 10 minutes away, as the planes don't really go over the estate and It is not a busy airport anyway. The best part of this hotel is the massive patio where you can have breakfast, lunch and dinner, It is absolutely romantic and makes you feel you are in the middle of a small village piazza. The restaurant is a bit uneven as some dishes where excellent and others just good. The filet steak with rocket, pecorino cheese and perfectly baked potatoes with thyme or the daring pasta carbonara with sea food at 16 and 14 Euros were definitely good value for money and so was the semi-fredo desert at only 4 Euros. Restaurant in 4 star hotels will often be pricey but there they got the price just right. The service can be a bit on the slow side but the waiters are professionals and there is also an over the top but funny in house sommelier that will help you choose the wine and explain everything there is to know about it, he knows his wine as the estate also produce some good quality reds and whites and also offer wine tasting in the afternoon. We dine there 3 times in 3 days as It was so easy to just walk down the beautiful patio after a refreshing shower without having to drive out. So I would recommend this place for a relaxing couple of days or 3 days if going to the Island of Favignana or Levanzo, more than that and you will absolutely need a car to get about. My verdict: 4 stars, It does what it says on the tin.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view as the sunset is awesome.

A Ryanair flight from Luton to Trapani and a quick transfer to this hotel which really does feel like it's in the middle of no where but Wow once you arrive it's like a peaceful oasis which exudes tranquility, classical Italian decor and superb cuisine . Excellent value, unbelievable really which was why I wasn't expecting too much and so were totally overwhelmed! You will require a car and would recommend Marsala, Trapani and Enrice as local towns to visit and dine. Suggest you visit of an evening Trapani and mingle with the locals as they promenade their families and loved ones around these charming and architecturally beautiful towns.
