A great place which combines scenery, setting and fine regional food and wine. The busiati and couscous were delicious but antipasti were truly first class. This was washed down by the wines from the Marsala region which are so so much more than the famous sweet dessert wine variant that most of the world knows. The setting is magical, quite literally aside the famous Marsala salt pans and the scenery includes the pretty still-functioning windmills and the Egadi islands in the distance - magical at sunset. If not hungry the cocktail bar next door makes a good alternative.

We made a journey here for a birthday meal, having been seduced by the ambience and view during an earlier visit to mozia. The experience did not quite live up to expectations,to be honest, though really this shows the importance of first impressions, we waited fifteen mins or syo to make an initial drinks order, then another fifteen for drinks including water to arrive - while watching service bustling to other tables, it was hard not to feel that the staff just couldn't be bothered or weren't sure how to deal with non-Italian tourists. Eyes rolled upwards must have worked though, as the food arrived quickly, and was v tasty, though by that point we felt again not truly welcome but tolerated. So all in all without the initial wait, we would prob have given five stars. I would say def go though and hope for just a bit of better luck with service.

Nice view and an average lunch meal. Nothing stood out as exceptional. Not sure how it compares to other restaurants in the area. If you are there to take the (not recommended) boat ride around Mozia Island, it is a good place to wait. The sandwiches sold on the side were better (in taste and financially) than the sit down meal. Apparently there are great sunset views from there.

"Maybe Chefs are the new Rock Stars of the 21st century? " I pondered this, as I pointed a rented Fiat toward Marsala, as fast as it would go. After eating light with family one night, I headed for a table at Ristorante Mothia in Marsala. Ristorante Mothia is no more, but Chef Biaggio De Vita is alive and well, plying his trade at nearby Mamma Caura.

With a simpler menu than previously offered at his old place, Mamma Caura is worth seeking out. Traditional siciliano dishes with a unique flair, Mamma Caura seems to have a little something for everybody.

Cannot say anything about the food as we did not eat here but had drinks while watching the sun set. The view of the salt pans , salt hills and windmills was spectacular and strangely soothing and peaceful. The ambience was casual and service was quick considering the amount of people gathering for a sort of sunset champagne party. A group had come in with the last boat from Mozia and everybody was drinking, eating and taking photos of the beautiful sunset. Must say it was quite romantic. Will be back .
