Versilia Palace Hotel

A really very nice hotel! The pool was large and clean, never overcrowded. Rooms generous in size, although we did have the deluxe sea view, the veranda/balcony was enormous. But above all this was the quality of the restaurant, the choice and quality at breakfast, lunch and dinner could not be beaten. Staff are very helpful. 5 mins by bike to Forte dei Marmi with its chic bars and designer shops! I am going back!

We had booked this hotel on a last minute decision to take a break and visit this region. It was intended to use it as a base to visit some other towns and historical sites each day but also to get a good rest and enjoy sun and relaxation. This hotel provided absolutely everything required. A nice walk down to the Marina each evening (the hotel is a good walk from the Marina but we enjoyed that), just far enough away so as not to be bothered by crowds or noise. The added bonus of car parking facilities within the hotel grounds was a luxury and the swimming pool provided the essential rest with absolutely no issue each day in relation to obtaining a lounger. Friendly and helpful staff and plenty of on site service in respect of provision of food and beverage. This hotel ticked the essential boxes very nicely.

Room Tip: No free wifi which is a little irritating. Free car park within the grounds is a nice touch.

Really enjoyed the last 2 days of our holiday to Italy relaxing at this hotel. We took the HB option as could not be bothered to go out and eat. Good choice, the food is excellent and for the €15 extra, well worth it. The service is exemplary and that extends to waiter service around the pool. talking of the pool it is cleaned almost hourly and the guy is very attentive as are all of the staff.

Loungers available most of the day and no problem with shade if you want it under the trees, very relaxing and a great area. I was not too pleased with the view over the side of the hotel from my room, but the room was very nice and spacious and the shower was superb.

The guests in the hotel were friendly and I have to put some of that down to the very relaxed atmosphere being in such a nice place with very good staff.

Air conditioning units were very quiet and helped immensley with the sleep. I will say though that as it had marble type floors anyone leaving their room early morning did create a lot of noise that woke me on occasion.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel if you want to relax and the beach over the road is just fantastic, the sand is like powder and very flat. The resort is pristine and much better than I have ever experienced in other European beach destinations.

Room Tip: ask for a room overlooking the front (beach/pool) or back (park). but not the side of the hotel.

Just returned from a three day short break and this hotel was excellent in every way. Location, standard of accomodation, food and staff were first class and of a very high standard. The resort was very quite this time of year - does not get going until May. Best to book half board as the evening meals are very good. Try not to use any Taxis in this area as they are a complete rip off and will cost you futune even for a short journey to the rail station. Bus & train are the way to go or hire a car. The beach is sandy and very clean and large. Sites to see from here - Pietrasanta town, Pisa (half a day), Florence ( full day), Lucca, Viareggio. This holiday can be expensive but good value - just steer clear for those taxis!

Room Tip: good room 308 or any with sea view

Just returned from 5 nights in this hotel. Booked on the Tripadvisor recommendations.
Yes it's one for people with transport, we had a hire car which put the town, Forti dei Marmi and the mountains all in reach.
This hotel and the staff are amongst the best I've experienced. The marble floors and staircases are beautiful.
The room, wooden flooring and walnut furniture were simple but exceptional. The balcony was huge and overlooked the pool. The maids kept it spotless.
The chap maintaining the pool deserves special mention, he never stopped working! the water and the whole area around were always clean.
The catering staff were extremely competent, always there but never obtrusive. The fare simple and enjoyable.
American bar supplied great cocktails (by the pool).
End of season so it felt like our private resort! few little signs of wear (spots of plaster flaking outside) and I hope they do the obvious winter maintenance.
The polite reception staff spoke good English.
The beaches are clean with talcum powder sand and shallow water, I expect you need to book well ahead in season.
Will I return? definitely.

Fortei dei Marmi and Marina de Peitrasanta comprise a large area and are nicely upmarket. Just beware of the areas North (Masa) and South to Viareggio which we drove through. You wouldn't want to stay there!

Room Tip: I think all rooms overlook the pool, ask for one of the larger balconies

Hotel was excellent! Really enjoyed our stay in the area. Breakfast was very good, staff very friendly and helpful. Big plus.. always seemed to be loungers available at the pool, no early morning rising to put towels on beds! Nice relaxed atmosphere. Bicycle hire for the area is a must. Plenty of bicycle tracks and area is flat so very enjoyable. Hotel is located opposite beach which is full of beds/umbrellas that you have to pay for but it is a great beach to go for a walk on as you can go for miles in either direction. The old town of Pietrasanta is about 4 km away but an easy bike ride. There is a train station in Pietrasanta where you can do many day trips from, Pisa 30 mins, Lucca about 1 hour and Florence 1.5 hours. Also Forte de Marmi for people watching! If you like some activity and great food there is plenty to see and do.

We had a couple of nights to fill before flying back to UK from Pisa and looked in the area for a bargain hotel. Found this on booking.com at a steal price of 95euros for dinner b&b for two per night. We would not normally eat hotel dinners but at that price we were prepared to eat in a restaurant if the food was not good.
The website pictures do not do this hotel justice, neither do the reviews on this site.
The hotel is set back from the road opposite the miles of sandy beach. There is a large car park plus underground parking which would be a bonus in the summer heat.
Our first impression upon entering was that this was a well cared for hotel, beautifully furnished. We had booked a deluxe sea view room and were not disappointed. Although not oversized the room had everything we needed and the huge marble bathroom was just lovely. Electric shutters led to an enormous balcony with table and chairs. We noticed either side had private sunbeds as well which I am sure we could have asked for. There was also and electric canopy to give shade if needed. Across the road and behind the private beach clubs there was the sea.
Outside there is a large eating area, and a heated pool with ample sunbeds. All very well kept.
We were easily able to access the beach opposite and such a shame that it was all closed up as it was still warm, like an english summer. There were many people walking and fishing so the posts on here that the beach is inaccessible are incorrect.
As it was the end of the season there were few guests. This did not detract from the excellent restaurant . We were served a four course dinner each night which was delicious but we thought the wine very expensive. Breakfast was also very good with a huge choice and everything you would expect of a 4* hotel. Certainly no packets of food and the coffee was freshly made for each guest.
The hotel was closing the next week until next Easter.
In conclusion this is a very pleasant place to stay, totally refurbished, in a very nice location . I think a car would be necessary as a long way to nearest shops.
