We were lucky enough to spend 4 days and nights at Torre Fiore in late June/early July and it was fabulous. The restoration of this ancient masseria is quite impressive, detailed and imaginative. The troughs where the animals would drink and eat are now flower beds. The location is breathtaking. The accommodation and food are top notch. You want for nothing in this well-designed and luxurious respite. Most importantly, the staff was outstanding --- professional, friendly and helpful. And, we were not easy guests. My wife and I brought our two daughters, 8 and 12 years of age. We travelled with another young family who had three daughters, 3, 6 and 8 years of age. The pool was perfect for the kids. The younger ones played happily and safely in the shallow part of the pool while the older kids played pool games. The staff were all great with our kids, recommended kid-friendly activities in the neighbouring towns and then arranged those activities. Horseback riding on the beach was a real hit for the kids. Exploring the nearby Sassi caves was another highlight -- for all of us. The kitchen was accommodating -- even for the younger ones with fairly North American palates. Even the weather was perfect. In looking back at the 16 days we spent travelling in Italy, Torre Fiore was rated no. 1 -- by the kids too. We were sad to leave and intend to go back soon.
