We found Camp Jolly on a website and couldn't decide whether it was worth it. We read a review that said you couldn't sleep at night because lorries on the nearby motorway rocked "the shed" you were issued. We found this hilarious and knew at the time that staying there would be a gamble. The other choice was a standard hotel for 35 euro more a night each (two of us) and in the end we flipped a coin, Camp Jolly coming out on top.
All I can say is; I didn't want to leave. We stayed here for 2 days to explore Venice and the surrounding areas before flying down to Rome. The receptionist and bar staff were excellent and insured every need was catered to. It was just fantastic - I enjoyed being there more than I did trips around Venice.
Obviously, you get what you pay for, but considering how very little we paid, we got a lot more than we expected. The beer was cheap (avoid the wine at all costs), the food was actually fantastic quality for very little price. I can't flaw it, other than the fact that if you're looking for luxury then this isn't the place.
Great place. Wish everywhere else had one!More
