We had booked one week here for our honeymoon, and (though we had phoned the hotel and emailed them twice in advance to ask for a nice room), sadly upon arrival we were allocated one of the smallest rooms with twin beds and no balcony. We didn't expect too much from the service, recognising it was a 3 star hotel, but there wasn't even fruit/wine in the room, which could have been a nice gesture. Only after we complained 3 times did they try to find us a bigger room and it turned out the hotel also has a cottage, which is more spacious but 2 star style. This was never mentioned in our early queries, which were met with a flat "No".
The dinner was good, but not amazing compared to what else is on offer in Tuscany.
We actually left the next morning because of the bad service and small room, choosing to upgrade to a better hotel. However, I should say the gardens were beautiful and it probably would have been alright for a normal holiday, as it was a reasonable price, just not for a special occasion.
