“A lovely relaxing stay”

After reading the reviews, you could be put off this hotel. However we found the room, which was a triple with plenty of room, impeccably clean and modern by Italian standards. I do agree that the aircon was not the best. As it is controlled by the reception staff, but the towels were changed every day and appeared brand new!
The breakfast was fine, with meat, cheese, bread, croissants, yoghurt, cereal, toast, fruit etc!! I can't really think of many more things I would want first thing, unless I was expecting a full ENGLISH??? Which perhaps some people strangely expect. Dinner was adequate. After a starter of pasta, it was then followed by a meat option, or vegetarian options. My favourite bit was the icecream from the parlour to finish. After living in Italy Iwould say it was typical fayre, and we chose to have a packed lunch one day and went out for Seafood.
Loved Malcesine and felt very safe, as we were three girls. Good transport links to Verona and an ideal place for couples, friends and families!

Good bits first: very nice clean room, great shower, central location, a lovely terrace up on the roof with sun beds, tables and a great view of the lake. Not so good bits: because of the wooden and tiled floors the hotel itself could be very noisy, particularly in the morning (no problem with outside noise in fairness - the double glazing worked well), the breakfast was only ok - not a great variety - the breakfast area was on the cramped side. However,it was mainly the somewhat indifferent attitude of the staff that would make me hesitate to recommend this hotel. I'm sure there are worse hotels in Malcesine but I sincerely hope there are better ones wherein the staff smile at you and don't generally treat a minor request as a major inconvenience.

My sister and I booked a late deal through Crystal Holidays in May and our expectations were not high given the cost, but we were delighted to discover we had been booked into this great little hotel. The hotel is situated right in the heart of the bustling piazza statuto Malcesine j& ust a short walk from the lake front. Breakfast was more than adequate with yougurt, fruit, cereals, rolls & croissants each morning served in the breakfast room. We had booked bed & breakfast, but ate in the hotel on a couple of occasions on the outside terrace. The food was tasy was value for money and we received complimentary aperitifs & digestives from very friendly and effecient staff.
We attended a welcome meeting arranged by Crystal which was extremely useful and provided information , maps & tips and also offered guided walks in and around monte baldo. The town of Malcesine is absolutely beautiful, the castle is definately worth a visit. We spend hours just walking through the quaint cobbled streets stopping regularly for coffee and prosecco or just sitting relaxing at the lakeside. The local people are extremely friendly and nothing is too much trouble. We would normally stay in Riva, but will definately be returning to Malcesine in the future

We stayed on a B&B basis in a double room at the back of the hotel. The room and the bathroom were spotless and cleaned thoroughly every day. The room was well appointed with wardrobe space etc and had a king-size bed (We requested a double bed at the time of booking). Malcesine is very well situated and has loads of character with old buildings and cobbled streets. The hotel has a sunbathing terrace on the roof with great views of the mountains and surrounding area. It's a great centrally located base from which to enjoy the entire area - it's close to the bus station and the harbour for travel by bus and boat.

For a 3 star hotel I was impressed with the room. There were 3 of us - all female and the room and bathroom was big enough for us. The hotel is situated in the heart of Malcesine so you could not ask for a better location. We were on a bed and breakfast basis which was fine. We had a meal in the resturant one nite which was good. Prices in Malcesine are very similar as eating out here in the UK. If you get the chance do the day/evening trip to Venice, it is such an awesome place. I would highly recommend this hotel but ladies be aware of the men, they love the english ladies :0)

We visited this hotel in September and were plesantly surprised by just how central it was. It is situated on the square and there are plenty of other bars and restaurants within a couple of steps.

We stayed half board, but the evening meals were nothing special and in fact we ate elsewhere on a number of occasions; however as long as requested the day before a packed lunch was substituted in place of the evening meal and we did find out on the last day, we could eat lunch in the restaurant at the front of the hotel, from the restaurant menu and had we known this from the begining, we would have done this instead.

The hotel itself was small and friendly and the rooms were big enough and very comfortable, not sure regarding AC as we went late September and although the weather was good, we are not talking heat wave stuff.

It is very central to everything you would wish to do in Malcesine and we especially enjoyed the cable car to Monte Baldo and the walks and views up there were amazing.

Overall I would say this hotel was as good as any and is good value for the money paid. As another reviewer has said if 5* luxury is your thing then this is not the hotel for you, but if an adequate base to discover what Lake Garda has to offer is, then you won't be disappointed.
