We stayed in this hotel hoping to spend a nice anniversary in Malcesine. The hotel staff were informed that we would be spending our special day there and while I was not expecting a bottle of champagne in the room, I would expect some kind of friendly welcome. We were assigned a rather average room, just over the garage, with the tiniest balcony possible which you couldn't even use because of all the cars passing by and the total lack of privacy.(The passers by could actually see into our room so we had to keep the curtains closed most of the time). The tables at the breakfast room were assigned as well and we got one in the back of the dining room without a lake view really (breakfast was decent). We did not feel that the staff were in any way friendly, accommodating nor interested in us as guests. The pool is a bit of a joke as it is indoors(!) and is tiny and mainly used by kids. There is a restaurant which we didn't feel like trying out after the rather cold service received at the bar.The beach is not really private and the access to water is quite uncomfortable. Many other hotels have a wooden jetty which is so much better.Wifi was not strong in our room.Garage was free of charge but at more than 220 euros per night it should be included in the price anyway. The only good thing I can think of is the cleanliness of the room and the pleasant 15 minute walk to the town.I would not recommend this hotel as there are so many others(even just a (hundred metres away from Europa hotel or in nearby towns) that have nicer beach areas,a warmer decor and a much friendlier atmosphere.

We popped in here for food after parking nearby. The restaurant is well located right on the beach with views across the lake. We ordered lunch and it arrived after a short wait, the food was ok, nothing special although the pizza's were certainly large. The price was reasonable but this isn't somewhere I would go out of my way to eat, just somewhere convenient.

The hotel is exelently located, calm, nice clean rooms with a great view onto lake Garda. Allthough only on first and second floor. A redhaired lady did an exellent job greeting us and explaining us the facilites.

But: baththub is a whirlpool and you cant fix the shower head to the wall, so showering becomes a difficult job.
The biggest problem posed the hotels own restaurant, as it has different policies for hotel guests and outside guests. Staying at the hotel with two small children, we wanted to make the stay for our two small ones as extraordinary as possible. I admit, we had some special requests, which were all denied at the end. The waitresses served us rudely, they looked at us angry during our entire stay, simply because we didnt fit into the hotels regular visitor who is an average of 60+. They treated many other guests similarly though, of whatever reason. I have to add, the red haired lady posed a wonderful exception, as she seemed to understand the basics of treating guests, even better than the owners.

The owners were nice though didnt seem to participate in the daily business and didnt seem to be bothered about the constant grumpy looks on their staff faces. Living in a resort with 150hotels i have never seen such an unprofessional behaviour.

Spa: Pool ok, cold water in whirlpool, though barely used by anybody. Gym shouldnt be called a gym

My advice: Book a room, first floor or second. And go eat in Malcesines picturesque old town with a great choice of wonderful restaurants. (In one of them our 2year old boy got a free icecream, cutely decorated, a painting set and constant entertainment of the staff, since they seem to understand how difficult it can be, to be in a restaurant with two small children. Malcesine is a beautiful place

we have spent a week in this hotel this May - and again a great experience of hospitality and perfect servis. the rooms are very nice , comfortable beds, space enough. the real treasure is the chef cook . very very good dinners ! the owners are extremelly helpfull - even with my extra diet I have met an understanding and special food was not a problém. next year again!
velmi doporučujeme, jezdíme sem již několik let - kvalita stále vysoká, hotelové služby i kuchyně- zvláštní pochvalu zaslouží kuchař, večeře jsou čtyřchodové a exceletní. doporučujeme pokoje orientované na jezero.

Room tip: 1st or second floor, lake view.

We used the restaurant whilst walking along the promenade from Malcesine. We had a very good light lunch and drinks. I can recommend the banana split was very good and seemed to be the best value on the ice creams menu!
