“Wonderful and friendly couldn't have asked for more!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2012 via mobile

We arrived back from the Luna Rossa on 15th September after a wonderful stay. We were greeted by Luca who informed us the rooms were not quite ready but would like to offer us a complimentry welcome drink. We were later shown to our room were the luggage was already waiting for us. Our room was in the annexe block behind the main building, it was small but immaculate. We were not bothered about the size of the room as this was more than sufficient for our stay. The tv in the room was a flat screen and we were able to watch three itv channels this came in handy as on the Wednesday we had torrential rain!

Breakfast was included for us and it was delicious, they would cook scrambled eggs if you wished but there was more than enough there to keep us happy.

Any drinks we had were charged to the room for ease and the bill paid at the end of your stay. They were kind enough to let a few of our friends who were staying at a different hotel join us for drinks around the pool and they were able to pay cash, use of the pool and whirlpool was off limits to anyone not staying at the hotel for insurance purposes but they didn't mind them sunbathing with us.

Our tv wasn't working the first few days but arriving back from dinner one night around 10.00 we spotted Luca in reception to see if there was anything he could do the next day, he was so lovely he said he'd finish serving drinks and help us after if we wanted. Luca is lovely and seemed to work all hours both here and the sister hotel.

I fully recommend this hotel and was that happy with our stay we would definitely be going back.

Ideally located hotel a minute's walk from the lakeside. Luca and Francesca were perfect hosts and looked after their guests very well, nothing is too much trouble. It was lovely to be greeted by a warm friendly face and offered a drink on the patio - nice touch and one that is very rare nowadays.

The main hotel building is modern in style and decor and kept very clean and tidy. Some of the rooms are located within the main building and others in the annexe at the back of the hotel. Our room was located in the annexe and was smaller than some we have experienced but perfectly adequate. A generous supply of fresh towels and bedding was supplied daily. A request for extra pillows was met very quickly allowing us to have a good night's rest. The hotel charge 10 euros deposit on the room safe and refund at the end of your stay.

Buffet breakfast was served from 8.00am - 10.00am with lots of variety to suit every taste. A selection of juices, coffee (filter, espresso and cappucino), cereals, yogurt, fruit, meats, cheeses, croissants, pastries, breads etc were all so fresh and tasty each morning. Scrambled and boiled eggs were also offered.

The pool is located in the garden at front of hotel and has ample amount of sunbeds and whirlpool tub. Towels are available if required.

Sister hotel, Prima Luna, a 10 minutes walk along the lakeside serves the most delicious meals in the evening and we recommend dining there during your stay. Luna Rossa posts each evening's menu at Reception and Luca or Francesca will book at table in advance of your visit.

At the end of our week we were delighted to have chosen Luna Rossa and appreciated the warm hospitality of this family run hotel.

This great little hotel is located right alongside the historic centre of Malcesine with easy access to the castle, shops, restaurants and other attractions of this delightful town and is no more than about 100m from the lakeshore. With friendly and professional staff, who provide a genuinely personal service, we were made to feel very relaxed and comfortable. While the rooms are fairly basic they are perfectly presentable. Breakfasts were particularly good and the Luna Rossa's pool was most welcome during a very hot August! Returning from dinner at one of the many nearby (and very good) restaurants each evening, drinks on the terrace proved to be a nice way to round off the day.

Well located hotel close to town centre and lake front. Francesca and staff very helpful and friendly from the moment we arrived with a complimentary drink, to providing us with breakfast for our early morning departure. Hotel is very clean, towels were changed daily and sheets twice in the week we were there. The rooms are a reasonable size, but the en-suite was a little compact especially the shower cubicle. Our room was in the annexe behind the main building and being on the ground floor did not have much of a view. Breakfast buffet was plentiful - pastries, toast, fruit, cheese, ham, cereals, breads plus unlimited tea, coffee and orange juice. We were also offered freshly scrambled eggs each morning. The hotel does not have a restaurant but serves a limited selection of reasonably priced meals at lunchtime which can be enjoyed poolside. The sister hotel - the Prima Luna - has a restaurant where we ate one night and the food was very good quality and good value at 18 Euros per person. Highly recommended.

Recently back from a fantastic stay at the Luna Rossa, Luca and Francesca made all our party of eight adults and baby very welcome. We chose the location for our daughters wedding.
The friendship and service is unlike any other you will experience from the larger group hotels.
This family run hotel is well situated on the edge of the lake, we had a view of the castle.
The hotel is only 1 minutes walk from the cobled streets of Malcesine which has many fine resturants.
Central for all links by the ferries which run up and down the lake and also only 5 minutes walk to the cable car station.
Will certainly be visiting the Luna Rossa again, great memories, thanks Luca and Francessca for your hospitality.

We got married in August in Malcesine and booked the Luna Rossa by chance - basically it was the only one that could accommodate us and the family together. We landed on our feet! The Luna Rossa provided us with an excellent stay throughout and Luca and his staff were brilliant from start to finish. We were welcomed as we arrived and the staff were completely helpful throughout our stay. We were concerned about having to go to the sister hotel to get our evening meal (half board) but we needn't have. Some of the best meals we had all holiday, and the service they provided was brilliant. The walk was lovely also!

A completely under-rated hotel that's family run and will provide a personal and warm stay.

This is our second trip to Malcesine and you cannot beat the Luna Rossa for location, facilities and service. We plan on going back to Malcesine and will only book with Luca at the Luna Rossa. Nothing but good memories...

We stayed at the Luna Rossa for one week and found the location of the hotel and the excellent service really made the holiday a great one. The staff were very helpful and friendly. After a late arrival on our first night the complimentary drink was very welcome!Malcesine is a resort that has lots to offer in terms of rustic charm, the cable car nearby and the good boat links. The meal we had at the Prima Luna was lovely and the desserts in particular were plentiful. After trying all 3 of the local manufacturers our favourite ice cream parlour was the Dolce Vita. We travelled with Inghams and were very impressed by their service and reps in the resort. We particularly enjoyed the night excursion to Venice.
