An excellent hotel chosen by Rivers Travel.
Mine host Maria and her staff were outstanding.
The hotel spotless, the food really good standard, maybe a bit more choice.
Our whole holiday was wonderful with trips out to Venice, Verona, the Dolomite Mountains and various others.

Room tip: Ask for a balcony(at extra cost of course), our's was on 2nd floor overlooking Lake Garda. A slight noisy at morning but no problem as we were up ready to go on trip's.

We were with Riviera Travel and read some reviews about this hotel before we arrived. We were a little unsure of what to expect as a result.

We thought this hotel was excellent! Our room was spotless as was the hotel throughout. Views of Lake Garda were fantastic!

The food is a major factor for me when judging any hotel. Dinner was 4 courses every night and the quality of the food was excellent! You were asked at the table what you would like to drink and you pay for your choice. Drinks were very reasonably priced. Each night you have a menu of three options to choose from for your dinner the next day and this worked very well. The menu was very varied. The waiting staff were very efficient and friendly.

There have been some comments made about the owner Maria. We found Maria to be very helpful and friendly and she always gave us a warm greeting when she saw us. On arrival it was raining and we asked where was the best place to buy an umbrella. Maria said that there was no need for us to buy one and that we could use her umbrella for as long as we wanted. Maria came out to the coach to wave us off at the end of our stay.

At the end of our holiday the coach picked up other Riviera holiday makers from their hotels. On seeing the other hotels and their locations we definately made the right choice in choosing Hotel Cristallo.

The hotel is slightly out of the centre of the town. There is a 15 minute really pleasant walk along the lake to the town centre.

This is a three star hotel that is in our opinion seriously under rated. We would have no hessitation in staying at this hotel again - in fact we would not consider staying anywhere else!

If you are holidaying with Riviera Travel then this hotel with a lakeside view is a must.

Room tip: Choose a lakeside view!

An excellent hotel, a devoted staff, excellent cooking and bar services under the direction of Mrs Maria. Thank you for all your efforts. Congratulations for the organization of your hotel, staff and your availability.
At arrival, you are received with an excellent welcome from the staff and Mrs Maria.
It is now the third time for us that we go back to the same place, Hotel Cristallo in Malcesine and we are really satisfied.
And we will return as soon as possible with great pleasure next year.
The hotel is very well located; close to the centre town, only 15 to 20 minutes along the lake on a nice promenade with a lot of flowers and beautiful roses. At the hotel you are close to the Lake, close to the centre of Malcesine and all can be done without a car, what else!. There is even a shuttle service for 1€, at the bus stop close to the hotel if you do not want to walk.
We had the chance to have a room with a large terrace and lake view. We confirm that this is really nice to appreciate the tranquillity with the nice view on the lake and the mountains on the other side of the lake with a glass cocktail in your hand if you want. The room was very good and behind the windows we could see the nice view on the lake and the other side of the lake with the mountains. Just wonderful and fascinating.
In the morning, the breakfast tastes very good and is more than sufficient with ham, cheese, cakes, corns, juices, breads, croissants, etc… and the coffee machine produces a good coffee.
In the evening, you can appreciate your dinner at the hotel in all the calm and serenity you need during this important moment of the day.
The service is excellent, nice food, nice cooking, everything is fresh at dinner, vegetables, salads and meats, and the choice of wines proposed is really good. A nice attention is given to local wines which gives the opportunity to make new discoveries. And they are really good thanks to the special and warm climate of the lake. The food proposed is really diversified with a nice Italian taste which makes the difference and you have the choice between several menus to order for the following day. It is a very good idea. The leader of the kitchen makes a lot of efforts to create diversified and tasty meals. At dinner, Maria and her staff take care of you and that you just feel comfortable.
It is a very nice and clean hotel, very important. For any information, help, advice, Maria and her staff are always present to help you during your stay. We confirm that we were just relaxed during our stays at hotel Cristallo.
After dinner, you can enjoy a drink whether in the hotel at the bar, on your terrace or outside close to the bar. And this is the opportunity to have conversations with other clients coming from different countries.
An excellent choice for holidays with nice accommodations, room, good food, drinks and staff.
We already think to our next holidays at Malcesine, at Hotel Cristallo.
Sure, if we go back to Malcesine, it will be at Hotel Cristallo.
See you soon Mrs Maria and take care.

I have just spent a wonderful week at this Hotel . Maria is a wonderful host and very helpful , the hotel was very clean and the maids were in everyday. The food was very nice , a salad buffet to start which was very tasty then a pasta starter. I had the best lasagne I have ever tasted it just melted in the mouth, The main course was always hot and really tasty and I never had any room for a dessert .
The rooms are quite small and basic and the beds narrow but are surprisingly comfortable. My friend and I had a room with a mountain view which also meant no balcony and i think for the price of the holiday was unacceptable although no fault of the hotel. I also would have liked a fridge in the room or at least tea making facilities .
When walking into Malcesine cross over the road and about 50 metres along the road is a pathway down to the lake, this is not signposted and better than walking along the main road which has no footpath !! . The pathway along the lake leads you right into the centre of the town and is a beautiful walk .
All in all this was a wonderful holiday and its worth buying a 20 euro boat ticket which you can use all day and visit Limone and surrounding towns ..
Oh and our air conditioner worked fine ,
Thanks Maria for a wonderful holiday :-)

Room tip: Ask where the pathway is down to the lake

I accompanied my parents for my Father's 60th birthday holiday in June. Upon arriving we were greeted by Maria, the hotel owner, a nice friendly lady. We were shown our rooms. Mine was reasonable single room with small lakeside view. Quite comfortable. I went to see my parents' room and there was an unbearable stench. As it turns out the air-conditioning was leaking onto the carpet. We tried to get the room changed but we couldn't. Our Crystal Lakes rep couldn't/ wouldn't help either. We tried everything, we borrowed air freshner, a fan ( which we were instructed not to leave on at night). Another thing was that instead of a double bed in that room there were two singles.

As mentioned in the title, the food provided by Maria and her staff was very good. It is at a set time of about 7 though so we had to rush back and this is not ideal in the hot sun in Malcesine. That said it does solve the problem of looking for dinner in the evening. As other reviewers have mentioned the salad buffet is the highlight.

We thank Maria and staff for making our stay as comfortable as possible despite the room problem. In future though, we would consider carefully if booking with crystal reps. The transport was good and they got us some excellent concert tickets, but were of no help with the room.

Room tip: Don't book online - ask for a lakeside view but make sure which rooms have them.
