“Clean, but very small rooms”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 28, 2013

The hotel is an average hotel , with good information from the reception. The minus is that the rooms are small, there is no wifi Internet only in the reception lobby , and the breakfast pretty poor.
The hotel was very clean and the rooms also.

We stayed at Hotel Ariston from 18-22nd October 2012 to attend a friends weeding in Malcesine. Although our stay was during the last weekend of the season (and the hotel was closing of the day we left), the staff could not do enough for us.

On arriving on Thursday afternoon, we were given keys for 2 rooms and told we could choose which room we would like to stay in. We chose room 26 on the top floor. It had clearly been recently modernised. The whole hotel is scrupulously clean. The continental breakfast, served between 8-10am is beautifully fresh and varied. The staff allowed my partner to use the private ironing facilities to iron his shirt on the morning of the wedding we were attending. They also provided me with wine glasses and a corkscrew when I asked it it was ok to bring my own alcohol into the hotel. Every night when we came back to the hotel after socialising with friends, the log fire was lit in the reception area and this felt very welcoming to come home to. There is also a great air-con/heating system in each room and we used the heating in the evenings.

The location of the hotel is perfect and we ate in Ristoro accross the road with approximately 12 friends, without booking. The food was fantastic.

Overall- this is an excellent, reasonably priced hotel and I would highly recommend it!!!!!

We stayed in early October 2012 in an executive room on the top floor. From here the view of Lake Garda was amazing. Add to this the warm, welcoming staff and superb breakfast each morning and we really could not have have asked for more. From the hotel it's a very short walk into the centre of Malcesine. Highly recommended. Would definitely stay at Hotel Ariston again.

The Ariston hotel was a fantastic palce to stay. We went for a wedding at the castle in the village of Malchesine. We booked the Ariston after we could not get into a chosen hotel in the village.
This was the best third choice we have ever made. We stayed on the "NEW" third floor room 24.
The 3rd floor is a relativley new build. The bed, the room and the bathroom was fantastic. To say it was spotless is an understatement, it was first rate. The view from the room was fantastic. The sun was on the back balcony in the morning and on the front balcony in the afternoon. The place was fantastic. It is 200 yds from the start of the village. I never heard any noise of a night there was electric shutters on the main patio window and electric velux windows in the bathroom. The whole place reeks of top class quality fittings from the shower to the patio door and the bed was a sheer delight The AC was fantasticThe location is first class. The hotel we were going to stay at our friends stayed at and they were not inpressed. The weather was fantastic and my wife and myself fell in love with Malchesiine and this hotel. There is a hot tub, set in lovely gardens. Some one has spent a lot of time getting QUALITY into what looks from outside an ordinary hotel. Take flat shoes as some TWERP thought it was a great idea to pave the streets in the village with up turned plebbles I have calf muscles like steel cords. In the wet broken ankles for old people and people inhigh heels could be the order of the day. Take a pair of flat trainers with you for walking in the village.

Room Tip: 3rd floor is the best, views are great.

I have stayed at the Ariston twice now and had a great experience on both occasions. It is a lovely hotel in a really good location. The staff are so friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Love it and would definately recommend it.

The only very, very small downside is that the space for parking is very tight. However, once you are in Malcesine you really don't need a car so once parked we didn't need to move the car again until we left. I feel bad mentioning it as we loved this hotel.

Room Tip: go for a room with a view of the castle and lake it is definately worth the little extra.

Really enjoyed staying at the Ariston. We had a top floor room which surely have the best views of Malcesine, worth paying the extra. Excellent breakfast, and rooms very clean. We would have liked wifi in our room, as it was a long way up and down the stairs each time we wanted to go online (we didn't allow ourselves to use the lift - all that pasta had to be worked off somehow!). The only downside (and this wasn't the hotels fault) was that our flight home was 1pm and the shuttle bus (booked via the hotel) insisted on picking us up at 7am. We were hoping for a nice relaxing breakfast on our last day before leaving but ended up spending 4 hours at Verona airport and we couldn't even check our bags in until 2 hours before. Also coffee in the room would have been nice as well as tea bags, but nevertheless we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms have the best views

A stunning experience for us. Staff prepared to go to great lengths to ensure you have a great stay. The views are unique, the garden is relaxing, the rooms are spotless and the hospitality extraordinary.
We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel and the staff in it so long as it doesn't mean we can't get in when we want to go again!!!
