We first came here for lunch in April last year when planning our wedding and both the food and service were exceptional, so we decided to have our lakeside toast here following the wedding.

All of our guests commented on how great the food was, and there was more than enough prosecco to go around, so much so that we ended up taking two unopened bottles with us on the boat trip we had planned after the lakeside toast.

Some of our guests came back here again for dinner during their stay and thoroughly enjoyed it, saying it was some of the best food they’d had. We came back for lunch before we left as well, and would highly recommend it

Came here on a recommendation which did not quite live up to the billing other than location which is impressive in a bustling small square overlooking the lake. When we were there for a late(ish) lunch they we clearly getting ready for a wedding and I guess that this would be a fairly frequent feature. Our pizzas were OK but the service was very slow and not very engaging despite the restaurant not being particularly busy at the time. We enjoyed it for what it was but will not rush back as there are so many alternatives on the lakeside (or elsewhere) in the area.

Loved this place years ago when you were made welcome, never rushed from the table - even given free aperitif and limoncello. However, we stopped eating there after being ripped off with a bad lunch. With our pasta we ordered a side dish of tomato salad. We were served the caprese - much heavier and with mozzarella. We pointed out that this was wrong, but were given a shrug and it was not replaced. Despite pointing out their mistake we were still charged for it! We did not want to drink much, and ordered a 1/2 litre of the house red wine. However, we were brought a full bottle of more expensive red wine and when we questioned this, the waiter said, "It doesn't matter, You don't have to drink it all." We were, however, charged for the full bottle. This time, there was no digestif, just a feeling that they wanted us to leave. I noticed that the plates seemed grubby and cracked. We have never used the restaurant since. We still visit Malcesine, and it seems that La Pace has entered the wedding industry, their main concern being to transport large groups to the restaurant. There are 2 better restaurants on the old harbour. We will never visit La Pace again.

We visited this restaurant twice during a 5 day trip to Lake Garda. Both times we were not disappointed. The food is delicious and the views of the lake spectacular, the second time we visited we had a table right in front of the lake. There was also a guitar player entertaining whilst you ate. An all round good experience.
