We stayed at the Pietra Di Luna for a week in May & you couldn't fault the hotel. All the staff were always polite, very friendly & helpful, the food was spot on & the waiters/waitress go out of their way to make sure that you have an enjoyable meal. All public areas & rooms are cleaned daily, towels are also changed daily, the location couldn't be better just over the road from the beach.
Buses to Amalfi stop almost outside the hotel (they're always crowded)you must buy your ticket before you board the bus,we went on several trips with Thomsons & we thought they were good value,we really enjoyed the trip to Capri & also Thomson do an afternnon trip to Cava which is well worth a visit.
Eating out at lunchtime was also reasonable & the drinks in the Pinata? are also reasonablly priced.
I would use the hotel again

Lovely hotel in a very nice resort. The staff really are 'Five Star', couldn't do enough for us; always pleasant and helpful. ALL the food was excellent and, like others have said, we didn't want to miss our evening meal by eating out!
Everywhere was spotlessly clean and, in truth, couldn't fault it. (except that in standard room the shower was a tad small). We will definitely return, all being well,
Also, lunchtime round the town is really cheap e.g. three euros for a take-away pizza or fantastic sandwiches.
We had a pizza at one of the top ten restaurants, Villa Maria, in Ravello (destination of celebrities) for 6 euros. Couldn't believe it!
Recommend this Thomson holiday to anyone.

An enjoyable holiday at this lovely hotel in the small resort of Maiori on the Amalfi Coast. The sea view room was spacious and kept spotless during our stay with linen changed daily. This was a Thomson holiday but still enabled us to dine at seperate tables and enjoy the main menu , something that didn't seem to happen with other tour groups. The food throughout was excellent and wine available at a very reasonable price from an extensive list. As ever the pool was cold but there were plenty of loungers plus towels available from reception. They have their own beach ,it is not very wide and of course is volcanic sand.
This is a great location and is mainly on the flat. Well located for touring around the many sites and towns of interest. The bus stops almost outside the hotel and their is a convenient little food store there as well.
We thought it knocked spots off Sorrento which is great for the morning visit but who wants to be booking Hotel shuttles all day.
We would have given it an easy five stars but the hard beds take some getting used to..
Finally , there was one thing that was baffling us.A slot about eight inches wide in the bottom of the bathroom door. What was it for?? Finally it it came to us If trapped in the bathroom , slices of Pizza can be slid under the door until you are released!
Italian ingenuity!!
(ok....it might be for ventilation)

Room Tip: Sea view rooms in summer will be hot.

Stayed here at the end of August for a week with my 9 year old son and we had an amazing time. All areas of the hotel were spotlessly clean and the rooms were a good size with a wonderful sea view. We had planned to dine out some evenings but didn't bother as the food and waiter service at the hotel was excellent. The pebble and shingle beach across the road was nice if a little painful on the feet but the sea was lovely and warm. Maiori was lovely, the perfect location for me and my son and I felt very safe. We travelled by boat or bus to other beautiful places and the First Choice excursions were very good too. All the staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly and deserve praise for what they do to ensure all have a fantastic holiday

Room Tip: sea view rooms are worth the extra

We were looking for a break in October hoping for a little late sunshine.
The hotel and Maiori did not disappoint however there are a few things to consider.
Oct. is the end of the holiday year and everything closing down. Weather can be changeable at short notice. The med. is cold.
The Amalfi coast is beautiful but can be crowded. If going again I would try mid- sept when the balance between people and traffic are best.
The hotel lived up to expectations- very clean, ideal situation on sea front, staff very friendly and couldn't be more helpful. The hotel is a little dated and the beds are hard but those suffering from back problems may welcome. The food, although typically basic was varied, well cooked and well presented. Nothing was too much trouble for the waiters.
Getting around on local buses was easy although if going again would choose more central location. Everything goes from Amalfi!!!
Enjoyed week and would thoroughly recommend to others.
8 out of 10 for First Choice.

Room Tip: A sea view room is a must.
