We stayed in Hotel Panorama for 2 weeks last Aug / Sep. We had a really nice stay with a nice room with a seaview. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food in the restaurant was always very good - and the maitre d, Mino, always made us feel very welcome! We were unlucky with the weather - it was badly needed I was told - not much consolation to an Irish person looking for 2 weeks of sunshine! The roof top bar / restaurant was great with spectacular views of the coast and a very relaxed atmosphere. The hotel is on the beach which is very handy and you get a substantial discount on the sunbeds when you stay at the Panorama. Maiori itself was quiet enough as it was the end of the season, and the weather didn't help, but anywhere on the Amalfi Coast is beautiful. I recommend a trip to Pompeii - it is well worth a visit. A boat trip to Capri is nice too - as you get to see the beautiful Amalfi Coast from the sea. If you go to capri, co up to Ana Capri and get the funicular up to the top! Very enjoyable!

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room with a sea view

We were in Maiori back in July 2012 and stayed at Hotel Panorama. We picked it because of the beautiful pictures we saw all over the internet. When we got there our room was not available. They upgraded us to an apartment instead. Although we lost a great view they compensated by giving us a free dinner, some drinks at the bar and free access to the beach. To our surprise we also got a fruit basket and a bottle of champagne delivered to our apartment within half an our of us checking in. The apartment was immaculate and larger than most family's apartments in Italy.
The staff was great, very friendly and attentive to our needs. The restaurant staff were very nice and professional, and the food was amazing. We wanted to take the chef home with us.

The town itself is beautiful and the people are very friendly and honest (unlike some other parts of Italy) The hotel arranged for a taxi to take us to Pompeii for the afternoon and he was also a super nice and honest person. He stopped along the way to point out Monte Vesuvio among other things and made sure we didn't buy anything without him being around as he didn't want us to get taken advantage of with tourist prices. He gave us tips on where to eat and shop and in the end was supposed to stay with us for 4 hours but ended up staying almost 6 but didn't charge us extra for it only what we had agreed to for the 4 hours.

We were in Italy for 22 days, 3 of which were in this town but it was they best experience we had.

Thank you to the Hotel and all the staff that made it that ways.

Cheers.

We had booked 6 nights at the hotel, but our booking was somehow lost by the staff, so they tried to get us another place somewhere in behind, which was quite a setback, we only stayed for one night, and left for somewhere else the next day.

The staff was very hepful in trying to minimize the damage, and they offered a free ticket to their private beach. It was floating with hundreds of sanitary napkins, eggplants and plastic bags.

So both the town and the hotel seemed like a rugged paradise!

It's important to note that the hotel seemed very beautiful, and the view for the terrace was stunning!

We have been to maiori before but this is the best time we have had because of this hotel.
The place was decorated nicely, had great views of the beachfront, was very clean and the staff were really friendly.
The food was also very good. I will definitely be going back.

I arranged airport transfers with Panorama Hotel, Maiori prior to my arrival at Naples airport. The agreed price for transfers was 90 euro each way which was reasonable compared to other providers quotations.
Our plane arrived at Naples 90 minutes late, however our driver was waiting for us and charged us nothing extra for the delay although he was tipped handsomely.

Our late arrival after midnight meant we were checked in by the night porter who allocated us a room on the 2nd floor. The room was tastefully decorated and would have been ideal; however the noise from the street was too much for us even though it was past midnight. As were due to stay for a further ten nights we were moved by Filomena the following morning to a room with a sea view on the 3rd floor. This room wasn’t so nice but we thought the advantage of a quieter room out-weighed the disadvantage of bad decor. On hindsight we should have asked for a room at the back of the hotel because of the constant street noise which was mostly mopeds, cars and trucks all day and all night long, but we were reluctant to give up our room with a balcony and view. The traffic has no alternative but to travel past the hotel to get to anywhere on the Amalfi coast.

Filomena and the rest of the hotel staff were fantastic, courteous professionals.

The public areas of the hotel are very impressive, beautiful lobby and sitting area, although the bar on ground floor level never opened while we were there.

The roof-top terrace area is used for breakfast in the mornings and a bar in the evenings plus lunch and bar at midday. The roof-top terrace also had private areas for sunbathing and a small pool area as well.
The views from the roof top terrace were idyllic. From watching boating activity from early morning to watching the sunset and fireworks over the Amalfi coast in the evenings it was just breathtaking.

Away from the traffic Maiori is a very quiet resort and ten days in this village is probably seven days too long. I enjoyed walks along the strip in the evenings and walking to the nearby Minori along the coast road which from Panorama to Minori town took approx. 15-20 minutes.
From Minori you can walk to Ravello. Walk past the Roman Villa up the hill, just after the hairpin bend you’ll come across a set of steps and a sign on the wall ”Ravello” follow this stairway for about 1000 steps you will arrive with your heart thumping and dripping with sweat at Ravello.

Alternatively for 3 euro each way you can catch the familiar red “city sightseeing” buses which travel between Maiori and Amalfi via Minori and then from Amalfi to Ravello timetable is approx every 30 minutes but I’m not sure when they start or finish.

I would definitely recommend Ravello to spend the day. Discover the gardens at “Cimbrone House” and enjoy a glass of wine in the lawn from this elevated position overlooking the bay.

The evenings that we spent in Maiori were typically out for a stroll and end up at some restaurant or pizza parlour. There are really only a handful of proper restaurants in the village, our favourites included “Paisa” “La Terrezza” and “Ristorante Dedalo” although we did enjoy “Tony’s” for lunch and also Panorama’s own set menu on two occasions.

A taxi to Amalfi costs approx 20 euro from there a boat trip to Positano provides a nice day out, apparently boat trips from Maiori are out of season in early September when we were there. My best day out was a trip to Pompeii arranged via the hotel. Amalfi town is also great for a day out, be sure to visit St Andrew’s cathedral to get away from the teaming streets full of tourists.

Although the Panorama Hotel was very good, it’s location lets it down. If I were to return to the Amalfi coast I would probably stay in Ravello or Positano and put Maiori at the bottom of the list.

Room Tip: stay at the back, do not pay extra for sea view as you may regret due to noise

Dear guest

we are satisfied because by reading your words we have discovered that you have appreciated our services as those who organize the transfer. The entire Panorama Staff is particularly attentive to the guests. Our hotel is situated in an enviable position in the middle of Maiori village with a beautiful sea view, unfortunately there are downsides such as the fact that the central position is often synonymous of noise that might disturb guests. Positano and Ravello are two beautiful villages. Ravello is located on the hills, away from the sea and is a very quiet place because the main road is far from the city center. Positano is beautiful but you have to walk every day many steps. The town of Maiori has the waterfront and the largest beach in the entire coast, but in the summer it is very popular. Every city has advantages and disadvantages that make it unique.

The Hotel Panorama was excellent. The people, especially Filomena, made the stay worthwhile. We traveled with a group of 3 couples and all 6 people had delayed luggage. Fliomena, bless her heart, went over and above in helping my wife tracking down our luggage. My wife called Delta and Air France and Fliomena kept calling the Napoli airport on our behalf. Roberto was kind and pleasant and was helping us out as well. Their suggestions for ristorantes and stores were great.
Hotel location is excellent and rooms were fairly spacious and very modern and clean. Access to the beach as a bonus especially since the weather in late October was unusually warm. Cannot rave about the people enough. very friendly and welcoming. Ate at the Restaurant once and it could have been better. The beef item was tough and not flavorful. The rest of the meal was good however. Just a note, the beds are very, very firm.
We really enjoyed the hotel and the surrounding cities of Maiori, Minori and Amalfi.
The staff really made the experience wonderful with the various issues our group encountered with a variety of things. Thank you, thank you and thank you again.

Room Tip: Definitely get the sea side rooms if possible. You get sun during the day and a great view to wake u...

We paid extra for a sea view and were allocated rooms 110 and 111, with interconnecting doors, very hand as we were travelling with our daughters. However the main road is for the Amalfi Coast, it can be noisy at night. Other reviews suggest the Air Conditioning was working, but I understood it mid-Sept. If it so then I am very very disappointed, the room has no instructions about this as we experienced a mini-heatwave (30's)! The room got the full sun all day which was but too hot for us, with no shade or air conditioning!

There were no instructions in the room about the room or Hotel. When we checked in, because our Italian is very limited, we were just handed our key and a leaflet on the price of the sun beds. On the first night we tried, unsuccessfully, to find the bar, not good after a day travelling! The fridge in our daughters' room didn't work, which we reported to Reception, but it never got fixed.
The rooms are spacious with nice decor, plenty of extra toiletries (body lotion and a razor), but the beds are rather hard.

The food in the restaurant for both evening meal and breakfast was very good, as mentioned by others.

The best thing about the Hotel is the roof top terrace, where the costs were very reasonable and views stunning and was our choice for lunch. I loved to sit and paint whilst on holiday and there are many spots (sunny or shady) on the roof area. The pool was small, but adequate, and the sun beds were very comfortable.

It is nicely located opposite the flat, long, Promenade. The resort is very Italian and less touristy than Amalfi and Ravello. We had some fun in the shops and cafes, even when trying to order something as basic as Orange juice! But everyone was very pleasant and it wasn't a problem, more the fun of travelling.

Being on the main road, meant if you did a tour to Pompeii etc, you had a later pick-up (8.20am) right outside the Hotel.
