The amalfi coast is wonderful. The APARTMENTS Due Torri are not. They are the noisiest and lack the basic facilities. TV is only italian. No clean towels. You have to search for a cleaner for toilet rolls. Bins are not emptied. No balcony - only a wall with a view of a lemon tree and some pervy local men walking by in the evening - watch out if your window blinds are not fully down!! Excursions with tour company Thompson 40 euros and then the adminision fees of 11 euros, and then shuffled into a restaurant for a pizza and salad for 15 euros - BEWARE - bring you packed lunch with you every day!! Tour rep vanished after the intro morning and excursions booked. The road is treacherous, on a bend and no footpath. Not doing themselves any favours the italians by been so unhelpful - I will go elsewhere both for tour operator and location.

Room Tip: Make sure you insist on a balcony. Beware you are on a corner and will have buses toot tooting every...

Firstly, don't confuse this hotel with it's sister version 'Hotel Club Due Torri'.

Upon arrival this hotel looks nice and clean, in a lovely location overlooking the coastline. The road outside is very dangerous and noisy.

As we checked in we were charged 30Euros, for a final clean of the room?! Why we are paying for our room to be cleaned once we have left, is beyond me.

Once we got to our apartment, it was clean and pretty spacious. Our 'Hillside Views' were that of a lemon tree! Quite ironic.

The room was cool, with AC. There was a TV with Sky, no English speaking channles bar Sky News and a few other odd News channels.

The bed was comfy enough, bit hard, there was a pair of pillows, a light blanket and a more fluffy blanket could be found in the wardrobe. There was shutters on all the windows.

The kitchen area had all items needed to make food, pots/pans, dishes etc. Annoyingly there was no kettle or toaster.

The hotel is located on a very sharp bend, with dangerous traffic right outside the doors of the hotel. So you need to be extra careful when leaving the hotel, also you need to walk along the road to get into the main town area, this walk is also dangerous, esp at night. It's a tight road with busses and lorries shooting past.

The most disappointing thing about these apartments is, you need to pay 10Euros for clean towels/bedding, which I think is terrible! Its hot weather, you shower every day and you need to pay for something that should be done for free at least once during your stay. Every hotel I have ever stayed in replaces towels/sheets for free, without hassle.

This is one of the main the reasons I would not recommend this hotel to people.

Replacement toilet roll is free though .............

Though you can't fault the scenery of Maiori , the Almalfi coast is amazing this hotel is perferct for people on a budget as it is cheap and cheerful. Just take extra money for cleaning.

Room Tip: Pay for sea views.

The room we had was on the top floor, with a balcony that faces the ocean. In the morning or any part of the day you can walk straight out and see the ocean as the residence is located right off the side of the mountain = PERFECT. Nice views and you can hear the waves crashing. Slightly downside is it is right off the road and there will be cars, but not very disturbing. The place was extremely clean and included a kitchen and living room. Bathrooms were amazing, what you would expect for the price you pay. 5 Minute walk to Maiori though be careful of cars as the roads are narrow. If I come back I will definitely book here again. Also, reception was superbly nice. The windows have shutters so make sure you close them during the night or else your room is super bright in the morning.

Room Tip: Get one that faces the water

This hotel was an absolute gem! It is in a great location and is very modern, clean, bright and spacious. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here where we had a lovely spacious room on the second floor. The balcony had afternoon sun and a lovely view, although the terrace on the top floor of the hotel is unbeatable. We enjoyed cocktails by sunset from the bar downstairs, and the views out over Amalfi and also of nearby Portofino town were just amazing. The wifi worked consistantly which was amazing for Italy and also breakfast was wonderful. Each of the famliy who own the hotel could not help us enough in answering questinos, providing infomration or pointing us in the right direction to the shops, beach etc.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would definitely stay again if back on the Coast.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in September. On arrival, we were happy to find we had a nice sea view studio(which we had booked for). The studio was clean and interior attractive, we so were happy enough with this. The studio was on the 1st floor, with the road being about 10feet below us. As the Residence is situated on a hairpin bend, large vehicles such as buses, coaches and lorries go round the bend very slowly and sound their horns, therefore it was very noisy and disturbing at 7am onwards every morning. There are no shutters on the 1st floor studios like there are on the floors above and so this was a constant disturbance.
We had a balcony, which was nice, although there is only a flimsy trellis separating our studio from the apartments either side, and this collapsed a few times in the storms we experienced.
The studio had air conditioning and whilst it was useful, as it was very warm while we were there, in the night it made weird noises which woke us up regularly. Also you can hear the very loud gurgle of the above apartments plumbing.
Having said that, the facilities were nice enough, there is a tv room on the 1st floor which looked very nice, there is free wi-fi (If you can manage to work out how to receive it) and access to a very nice, quiet, secluded beach away from the hustle and bustle of the main beaches.
There wasn't any information in the room, such as where to go to the beach, if you can go to the hotel for dinner, and such like ( its on the information boards in the lobby but its nice to have easy access information in the room).
The biggest gripe is that the rooms are not cleaned very regularly. In the 14 nights we were there, our room had a linen and towel change, and a refuse collection once, on the 4th day. That left us with 11 days with the same bedding, towels and bags of rubbish in the room. On checking out, we were charged 30 euros for the cleaning, which I think is quite rich for the very limited cleaning that actually happened.

Saying that, the view was so nice that I would consider returning, taking into consideration the short comings.

Room Tip: Have a sea view two room apartment (not studio) - make sure you're high up in the building.

Well, we finished our 5 week tour of Italy with 5 nights in this gorgeous place. We wanted something where we could cook our own meals, and have a comfortable place near the beach. We were very happy with this hotel. We were lucky to get the 5th floor, with fantastic views over the water. The room was very large, with a separate bedroom for my wife and I, and the children sleeping on the fold out bed. The cooking facilities were more than ample, and the air conditioning was nice and cold. We were a 5 min walk down to a great secluded beach, and about 10 minutes down to Maiori. This hotel was nearly a thousand Euro cheaper than the equivalent type of hotel in Positano. Well worth it for us. We visited Amalfi, and there were 10 times the amount of tourists there as compared to Maiori. The hotel provided free parking as well which was fantastic. The guy at the front desk (Fabio) spoke impeccable English, and was very helpful with all of our questions. Internet in the room only lasted one day though, not sure why, but there was free internet at reception and on the first floor. Overall, very impressed with our stay at this hotel and highly recommend it!
