We had lunch in the restaurant inside on the second floor and not on the outside terrace. The inside has a very lovely atmosphere: relatively small and nicely decorated, and great views by the windows over the water. The menu is mostly similar to other places in the area, but has a few more interesting dishes, such as seafood on cous cous. We had two primis (spaghetti con vongole and the seafood on cous cous) and both were very good to excellent. The mixed salad was fine, nothing special as we would expect. Prices are similar to other restaurants, but much better value since the atmosphere is much better. Cover (2 euros each), salad (5 euros), our two primis (13-14 euros each), large water, caffe and tea (2 euros each), plus bottle of very good wine (18 euros) for a total of 60 euros for a lovely lunch. The wine list has a nice selection of local wines and some other Italian ones, and the prices are excellent, with little markup. Our only criticisms are that the wooden chairs became uncomfortable after sitting a while - cushions would be nice - and there could be more attention to details such as providing plates with the bread. Service was friendly and did not rush us, but they did not check to see if we needed anything such as more bread or to pour more wine. We have eaten at essentially all of the tourist-type restaurants in Maiori and Al Mare is clearly better than all of the others except the nearby Torre Normanna.
