Wonderful family run boutique hotel in stunning location, everyone was so helpful and welcoming. The glass elevator makes the ascent/descent easier, but there are still quite a few steps to negotiate, although this was fine for us. On arrival our luggage was taken up for us and was waiting in our room, and the reverse on our departure.

Our room on the third floor was delightful and comfortable, with more amazing views, very peaceful and quiet, the only sounds being birdsong and the waves lapping on the shore way below.

We dined in the restaurant on four evenings, each time the food was delicious and beautifully presented, with sublime views across the bay and out to sea. Impeccable service from Vincenzo and Giusy, and a special mention to Chiara who helped me with my rusty Italian while efficiently looking after us at breakfast and dinner.

All in all a wonderful experience. Grazie a tutti.

Marvellous location, clinging to the side of the hill above Maiori. The town is no competitor for the dramatic beauty of Positano but it is a living, working community and has a different feel from its far more famous neighbours. The new funicular elevator to the hotel is a great experience.

The staff are wonderful and cannot do enough for the guests. The hotel is surrounded by innumerable terraces providing plenty of private spots for guests. Of special mention is the cactus garden arranged over four terraces containing cactii of every size and shape imaginable.

We stayed in the final week of the season and it certainly felt that the place would benefit from some attention. The bath tub leaked, the shaving mirror dropped from the wall, the smoke alarm battery was low and bleeped through the night, and the hi-tech aircon control system was not functioning. All of which rather tarnished what would otherwise have been an enjoyable stay.

We chose this hotel because of the great reviews and were for once not disappointed by the reality. We were upgraded for free to a suite which was out of this World. The staff from the second we arrived to the moment we left were amazing, in particular Nadia and Vittorio and the lovely Luiza. All staff were amazing and all deserve a mention. The food was 1st class in the romantic and beautiful intimate restaurant. The views from the hotel are hard to beat and the ascent and descent was easy enough and we are in our 50's. Well done HBSL! Top of the class!!

We were at this hotel in September and I must say that we are accustomed to the best, and this hotel has responded well to our needs.
The favorable position, from here there is a fantastic scenery of the Amalfi Coast. We always had dinner at the hotel restaurant, which is coordinated by the legendary Vincent, nice person and very prepared. We will definitely return next year.

We have just returned from 14 nights at at this lovely hotel. From arriving to leaving we were looked after so well. The staff are impeccable & go out of their way to make sure that your holiday is one to remember. Nothing is any trouble to them & their attitude is first class. It hardly seems fair to mention anyone by name but special thanks must be given to Nadia on reception & of course Vittorio.
The hotel has a beautiful setting with views to die for. I don't think that we have ever sat so long at breakfast but found that it was hard to draw ourselves away from the lovely views & ofcourse the food, inparticular the omelettes!! We only ate at the hotel one night, which was a lovely meal eaten with the lights of Maiori & Ravello twinkling around us.
The pool area is very relaxing but we especially enjoyed the Solarium terrace with the jacuzzi pool from which there were wonderful view over the old part town.
Thanks again to everyone at HBSL. We hope to see you again soon.

Stayed for 10 nights in a 3rd floor superior room. Room was lovely and spacious and cleaned twice a day. Had good stocked minibar. We had a large corner balcony. However there were no sun loungers on the balcony as there seemed to be on the lower floor rooms. The bathroom had a corner shower which was really quite small - even at 5'2 I struggled a bit with the limited shower space. View from our room (and indeed all at the hotel) is stunning over the Amalfi coast. Breakfast was really good - included proper coffee (cappuccino) and eggs (cooked however you like). The hotel was quiet and peaceful with a lovely pool. Drinks at the pool bar are quite expensive (13 euros for beer and wine) and I don't think the jacuzzi end of the pool was working whilst we were there. We ate once in the evening - really good seafood. There is a lovely cactus garden, several terraces, a small outdoor gym, computer and Internet access. Overall a great boutique style hotel with excellent views, extremely clean, good service - would visit again but may go for lower floor (cheaper?) room for the sun loungers and would have liked a bigger shower. The new lift is a bonus but it is very very hot inside - like a little greenhouse. We preferred to walk into town via the old steps (shades) and come up in the lift when it had cooled down. We visited Amalfi, minori and ravello by bus / water taxi. Really easy to get about and all places worth visiting.

This hotel truly is a gem on the Amalfi coast. The location is amazing & the views from any part of the hotel are superb. You get a real personal service from all the staff and they truly cannot do enough for you.
This family hotel is run with such passion & dedication, the owners Andrea & Angela & their family's are the kindest people they are regularly at the hotel & always on hand to help and assist.
In the evening the hotel looks stunning with all the outside lighting. It is the perfect setting for a Romantic meal or a family meal. The service is impeccable and the food is amazing. Vincenzo makes the best moijito I have ever tasted, a truly lovely guy who is a real asset to the Hotel.
Breakfast again is wonderful, the setting perfect over looking the coast, you can sit in the sun or shade whichever you prefer. Vittorio and Lucia are a great team working together and I miss my morning cappuccino and Italian lesson from Vittorio. I can now order eggs any which way in Italian!!
The addition of the lift and pool bar this year are fantastic, you can now enjoy a light lunch, of salads or sandwiches at the pool bar or you can enjoy a cooked lunch & dine on the terrace restaurant at lunch time - both are wonderful washed down with a chilled glass of wine.
The rooms are all delightfully decorated and the beds are super comfortable. With a lovely balcony, again to admire the view.
Maiori is a wonderful location, it has a lovely beach & the sea is wonderfully clear, if you stay at the hotel then you automatically have sunbeds to use at their beach bar, which is great. You can visit all the towns along the coast from Maiori, by boat or by car or scooter if you are brave enough!
For us we have found somewhere very special where we will continue to return to every year, my family were so sad to leave, we have made some life long friends in Maiori.
This hotel definitely has the WOW factor.
