“Amazing location, a bit of maintenance required”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2013 via mobile

This place is in an incredible gorge with an almost private beach.
In terms of practicalities it's a 10 minute walk into the centre of Maiori along the main road (no pavements) but it's not that bad. There's no parking but a valet company will deliver your car to the residences (and pick up from) given 15 mins notice. This cost us €10 per day and I thought they were very good.
Also, there are about 80 steps down to the apartments so be aware of this. It wasn't really a problem for us with our bags and two 3-year olds but we're quite young and fit.
The apartment was of a high standard and very stylish design, and good value I thought. A few minor things were in need of a handyman such as the main table and fridge door. The balcony was incredible and powered shutters quite flash.
Also, it was great having our own separate bedroom from the kids for a few nights. Bathrooms were excellent.
It's a spectacular location and we would definitely go again.

Location was outstanding, beach was stunning, friendly and fun.
However parking is a bit of a challenge , but they offer a service to take your car and bring it to you whenever you need it, and they are quick and prompt. And Gino is more than pleased to help with all your transport needs. (Scooter rental, shuttle service to and from wherever you want to go...)
Apartment was amazing, clean and spacious, with the most beautiful views. Just stunning. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely return.

Room Tip: We were in apt 8 . Lovely.

We stayed in La Dolce Vita for 8 nights and had a great time. We traveled bij public transportation and we loved it. These guys know how to drive and they get you there very quick. You need to give yourself some time to figure out the bus schemes but when you have it is a great joy. No parking problems or having to say no to that perfect red wine. Yes, the accommodation is a 10 mintute walk from the center but we didn't mind that at all. And if you ask the busdriver to drop you off in front of the appartment they would do so. The busses are like taxi's, simply great!

We had everything we needed and more then we wished for. We had apartment 6A and had a great view and a balcony. The hot tub on the rooftop was very nice and the beach downstairs is 1 minute away. Make sure to reserve a bed with the owner Massimo or the other guys for the weekends since it is very crowded then. They have good food and plenty of drinks and simply enough to get you trough the day.

There were some things which we had to find out ourselves. Like what we had to buy ourselves. No problem at all, and the cleaning lady was a very big help. Even though she didn't speak a word of English we managed perfectly together.

We had a great time in La dolce Vita and would definitely recommend it. And when you go there and when you have the chance, leave your car at home.

I can't understand the poor reviews for this place. It is a beautiful location - a very quiet cove, with a stunning secluded beach cove complete with swimmable caves. Yes there is no parking (but what kind of crazy person would take a car to the amafi coast?!) and yes the hotel reginna staff are a bit surly... but so what? This is a great apartment complex, it has a stunning rooftop terrace with sea views, a hot tub (it takes 2 hours to heat up to 40 degrees so plan ahead for sunset). The furniture and crockery is all ikea, Spartan White decor but modern and comfortable. I prefer this to chintzy any day! The shower was fantastic. The kitchen is great and we cooked loads- there are 4 electric rings, no kettle but there is a teapot, a mokka and cafietiere. There's a large fridge (small freezer compartment) saucepans, frying pan, plates, cups, cutlery. The supermarkets in town are well stocked but much more expensive than Naples, but I guess they have to bus it all in on the slow coast road. The butcher in town sells fine steaks for 2 euros! The pastry shops are very good and cheap (lemon sosperis are yummy at Trieste). But the apartment does not have all the essentials- you will need to bring with you: cooking utensils, sharp knife, grater, chopping board, washing up liquid, dishcloths, salt pepper and cooking oil. There really is nothing to fault this place, it is good value for money, just outside Maiori (less than 10 min walk- bring a torch for evening). Next to the stunning torre Normanna restaurant. The one bed apartments would be fine for families with 2 kids sharing the sofa bed. The town is fantastic, much cheaper than amalfi or positano but only 20. mins away on the SITA bus (every 30 mins). Although I found a lot of restaurant food on the coast to be disappointing and expensive compared to the fabulous delights of Naples' trattatori at ridiculously low prices (Nenellas a case in point at 12 euros for 3 courses Inc wine). It is also well situated for paestum and Pompeii (bus & train via salerno). I would recommend a stay in Naples too for the food, history and atmosphere.

Two adults and one teen stayed in the property for one week. The property is a 10 min. walk to Maiori, but doesn't have any parking facilities on site. Sadly, you need a car, because the site is quite distance from all the tourist attractions ( almafi, positano, etc) They did have an arrangement with a parking Garage you could call, and the owner Aldo was very nice and accommodating, and would pick up and drop off the car at your request for 10 Euros a day.

The good: The apartment was clean, and our apartment ( perla- apartment 5) had a great balcony and view of the ocean. The apartments below us ( apartments 6a-6c I think) only had a view of the overgrown plants in front of the property. The furnishings were acceptable, and the small kitchen area was nice to have.
the Bad: We asked three times on email for an address for check in, and were finally told to just go to the hotel Reggina, and we looked it up on the internet for an address. The front desk staff didn't know what we were talking about, and thankfully I had made copies of my emails with Luisa so I knew who to ask for. Luisa didn't bill us as was explained, so there was some confusion at check in with amount owed.
We were told there would be internet, but we asked for it for several days, and didn't get it till the last two days. Only ONE person can be on the internet at a time once it was turned on.
The 'snack bar on the beach' that was advertised was still in the process of being built, so you had to pack down your own snacks to the beach...but they STILL wanted to charge you 5 euros per chair with no umbrella and no accommodations. We paid 5 euros per chair in town for a umbrella, restroom facilities, and a snack bar/restaurant steps away.
The jacuzzi didn't work for the first five days, and then FINALLY after complaining for two days straight ( there was staff that would show up for repairs but I guess didn't check if things worked or not) it was turned on. They keep the jacuzzi set VERY LOW and it couldn't be used after it was turned on after waiting two hours for it to warm up, so we left it on all night so it would be warm the next night, but they went up and turned it WAY down again, (kinda amazing since they didn't notice it was off the first several days) and it was cold the second night! I guess they don't understand the concept that a hot tub should actually be kept hot.
The kitchen area is small but acceptable for the accommodations, but they don't provide ANY kitchen utensils....no spatulas, no spoons, nothing. There are pots, but nothing to actually use to cook with them. They didn't provide any kitchen towels, or dish soap..we had to buy paper towels.
We complained that the screen to the master bedroom didn't work the first night, they worked on it and eventually just removed it that evening. Said they would replace it the next night, but never showed back up to replace it ever. We couldn't ever leave the door open the entire time were were there or would be eaten up with bugs. No communication at all about what was going on with it, even though the staff was there installing flat screen TV's in the apartments.
The onsite staff was nice (the cleaning woman helped my daughter lug her heavy bag up the 50 or so steps when we were leaving) but the owners don't seem to really care.
I suggest you stay elsewhere until they are able to resolve their issues.

Room Tip: Stay in Amalfi...Maiori is too far away.
