“Marvellous Maribel at Madonna”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

This is the second time we have stayed at Maribel, the first time being last year and we were so delighted by the hotel, the staff and the resort that we decided to come again.

Maribel truly is a full service hotel, from the minute you arrive, they take your car keys, unpack your skis, put your boots on the warmer and deliver your bags to your room. There is nothing that is too much trouble.

Although the resort is a little way out of the town it really does not make any difference as once you have tasted the food you simply will not want to go out to eat anywhere else and the shuttle bus (on demand) takes you straight to the lifts.

We do not normally like all inclusive and the first time we came we fully intended to go out to eat, but once we had sampled the food we never actually did. We stayed 6 nights and not once was the same thing on the menu, with at least 3/4 selections for each course. Their wine selection is truly excellent - get them to recommend some of the local wines.

The spa has also been very well thought out and is welcome after a day on slopes - only slight niggle is that the water in the hydro pool is not warm enough for me personally.

As for the staff, Andrea on reception could not be more helpful and everyone from the front desk to the waiting staff to the cleaners are always on hand with a buongiorno.

We really cannot recommend this hotel enough - a true gem and we will definitely be back for trip No.3 next year.

Room Tip: If it is just the two of you then a standard room is really more than adequate. We had a superior r...

5 very happy days spent at the hotel maribel. extra-ordinary customer service and kindness. always a smile and a cheerful greeting. delicious and plentiful food. in more detail - we were driven to hire our skiis and boots, our own boots were then collected and returned to the hotel, we were driven to the lift every day and a driver awaited out return each afternoon. we were driven into town on a couple of evenings (the hotel is not in town but this is no issue) and collected to return for dinner. Pre dinner drinks served with heavenly and complimentary canapees. Dinners in the hotel to be recommended for convenience and in their own right - a highlight. plus when we had a ski mishap, Eros and Andrea could not have been more helpful. relaxing in the wellness centre a real treat - and all this in a beautiful location.

Our family skiing holiday was made perfect by staying at this fabulous hotel which genuinely felt like a second home after only a couple of days' stay. The service, friendliness and professionalism was among the best we have ever experienced in our travels.

I'm so glad that we booked half-board: every evening the 4-course menu changed with lots of varied options, and it really felt like ordering from a high-class a la carte menu. The quality and choice of food was superb. The restaurant maitre Pino and his assistants Maurizio and Norman were very helpful and delivered excellent service. I must also mention the very professional and charming bar supervisor Fabrizio whose friendliness made sure we never missed pre-dinner drinks. I also felt that the cost of drinks was very reasonable. Free afternoon snacks (juices, savoury and sweet snacks/cakes) served during the festive season was a very pleasant surprise.

The lobby, bar, library and all public spaces seemed to combine the best of traditional and contemporary styles; and they felt both fresh and welcoming all at the same time.

Our family suite was spacious, modern and very clean and well-maintained by the housekeeping staff. A big balcony with lounging furniture, and free WiFi made our stay even happier. The room had everything we needed for a family of 4.

My only reservation before arriving at the hotel was that it is on the edge of town and not so close to the town centre and ski lifts. But I needn't have worried: at amost all times of the day the very competent and accommodating reception team (Eros and Andrea) arranged transfers to and from the Madonna or the Groste lift. They were like expert concirges in a top city hotel, and made the organisation of our holiday so simple. Besides, Daniel, the very kind hotel driver, always helped us and the kids with our skis and baggage.

Finally, I must mention and commend Maribel's excellent Wellness Centre which would put many luxury 5-star hotel spas to shame. After our first visit there, my wife and I were so impressed that we booked two further visits/treatments straightaway. I was very pleased with the deep sports massages that I received: a well needed remedy for my legs which were sore from inexpert skiing. I think considering the relatively small size of the hotel, the spa punches well above its weight, and is a great asset to Hotel Maribel.

Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel which provides exceptional service to anyone considering a skiing/mountain holiday in Madonna di Campiglio.

(Contact me if you want contact details for a lovely taxi driver with a large clean car for transfers to and from airports - I found him mysef and he was not introduced to us by the hotel.)

A smart woman taught me long ago that when it's too good to be true, it's not true. well, this is the exception. The service is way too good to believe there is such a service. Eros and Andre are going their out of any way of service. They will help you in anything to make sure your vacation is perfect. They will drive you to nearest ski rental, where you will get a discount for being a guest in the Maribel, and Daniel the driver, will drive you to the nearest ski Gondola whenever you want, and will return you at the end of your ski day (four minutes drive).
The food is a real gourmet at its best. Unfortunately, a lot of carbs, but if you ask for a special diet food, they will be happy to prepare you whatever you wish. When you are done with your ski, or just want to enjoy your afternoon, a high tea is served with a soup, bread, cheese, cookies and delicious cakes.
The swimming pool is too little to swim, just for having fun. The spa is very nice with two dry sauna and a wet one as well. when you are done, you can seat and put your feet on a stone water massage. Tea, water and dry fruit will wait for you next to the relaxation room.
The junior suite was nice with a king side bed and a single one. There was a nice balcony adjust to the room. The bathroom has a tub and a separate shower with two sinks. All the bath amenities are very nice. A bathrobe and slippers are providers.
So if you are looking for the best ski vacation, wide slopes and a great hotel - you've got it !

First class experience - nice hotel with friendly staff - 3km out of town but there is a shutle to the slopes (1km) and to town - great food in the restaurant (restaurant sometimes just a little cold) - some of the members of the staff have some difficulties with other languages and are therefor a little reserved, but that is just a minor remark - received a room near the elevator so experienced some noice of it (room 308) - few people in the hotel while we were there so just a little bit of diturbance (became a bit worser the WE) - in the rooms in front of the hotel you sometimes hear cars passing by as the hotel is near a national road - BUT: we want to go back immediately!

We stayed a week in the Maribel in September and we had a wonderful time. The hotel has a sophisticated style in a beautiful mountain location. Our room was very nice: spacious with a large, modern bathroom with rain shower. Breakfast was excellent with everything you could wish for. The evening meal was the highlight of the day: all dishes were delicious with fresh ingredients and very well presented. The staff in the hotel is very fiendly. We are keen hikers and the hotel gave us wonderful hiking tips every day. A really luxurious hotel with top food and top service!
