we spend 1 week in this beautiful location in Liguria. 2 adults and 3 little girls.
we decided to book in residence to stay more comfortable and we were right. a little garden introduced our room. a dining room with the kitchen well equiped, 1 bathroom and two bedrooms. always was perfect, clean and warming good. the structure has a wonderful swimming pool perfect for childs and parents. baby-club helped me and my wife to join our holidays in a relaxing way. a little market, pizzeria and restaurant were helpful to eat something particular. It's a little, comfortable , village. we will sure go back there for holidays

was hoping to stay at a hotel with a kitchenette and hotel service but instead ended having to make our own beds and using the same towels throughout our stay. It would have been helpful if they had mentioned about this in their website because I wouldn't have booked it if I had known about the limited services. Overall I would like to note that the place is more of an amusement park rather than a hotel.

I spent a week here with my family in July. This is a very big "village" like a lager. The room was more or less o.k. - fairly clean. The walls are just like papers, you hear everything from above!! Most of the things are used, the roller shutter is very noisy - everybody wakes up when the fist rolls it up :( The breakfast quite poor, but rich if you like cakes. The pool is not very clean and the side is very crowded. At the begining of your stay you got a fix place (sunbeds and parasol) and you use it whole time. But be careful you can change it if you are not satisfied and you find another place where the users are leaving on that or on the next day because the little papers are on the parasols and you can find out when someone leaving. It is good that there is a pizzeria in the village but it closes at 10pm. It is funny that people keep sitting at the reception because there is free internet only there and nothing elsewhere in 2011! Keep in mind that the free parking is outside and there is a quite good playground for kids.

My goodness, what a dump! Almost 2 km away from the beach, overcrowded, dirty place -
we managed to flee after 30 hrs and with a penalty. Yucky swimmingpools full of bodies, Those who fancy campings might enjoy, but if you work hard for your summer holiday - by all means stay away

The playground and facilities for children are very good. Our children loved the baby disco. The food is very tasty and fresh. The pool is clean. But this is not a 4 stars hotel in our opinion. The rooms are too small and in reality they are not as good as presented on the webpage.

The location is not the best. The hotel is too far away from the beach. The shuttle is always full and you need to be there 20 minutes before departure to be able to get seats.
The bus stops in the center of the town and then you still need to walk to the beach. It takes too much effort and time to get there with two little children, bags ant hot weather. We only could make one trip a day and not even every day.

We went to this hotel & Residence for 11 nights this August. We took the Residence formula with a 7 nights dinner package and the normal 'service' for the residence.
First of all, the hotel rates 4 stars, be aware, the residence is not worth 4 stars.
First of all, the 'appartment' is not as big as you would think. it 's just a room with 2 sliding doors which then give access to the 'living' room with coach and kitchen facility behind the closet doors. Nice terrace although. The appartment was terribly dirty upon arrival, big dissappointment, since we read many good reviews about the cleanliness of the hotel. Was it because we went to the reception at 10 in the morning and usual check-in time is 5 in the afternoon. Anyway, they shouldn't give out a dirty appartment; I understand pressure is big, because it's a very busy resort, but they will get in trouble if the continue like this...
2nd big problem is the noise. other reviewers speak of thin walls, probably one of the problems , but many families with very little children is definitely also the cause. We had our 2 year old son with us, so we understand. but up untill a certain point. I really don't like to be awaked at 6 or 7 in the morning by other kids crying and having to go to sleep after 11 with the same crying... Don't think you'll find rest and peace...
the service : people are kind, if you ask something, they're immediately at your doorstep. BUT for the rest, no service at all... Imagine, having to pack your own towels and sheets and go the the laundry to change them... And during our 11 night stay, no cleaning was foreseen... I can imagine their appartments are so dirty, not everyone will clean that often during their holidays as we did...
Restaurant : it was good, really. Variety, perfect for children. The only disadvantage is that it only opens at 7.30... If your child goes to bed around 8, it can be a hassle the first couple of days...
Swimming pool : very clean, water a little cold. System with cards at your seats is stupid. You get your seat for the rest of your holiday. But, since it was high season, we had to sit, almost back at our residence... if you go to the pool at 5 in the afternoon, you walk by empty seats all the way to the back to get your own seat...
Playgarden : great !
If you can look over the dirt and ignore the noise, you could have a nice holiday...
Oh yes, by the way, for those who didn't go to Italian beaches yet, it's paying, min. 25 EUR per day... The beach in Loano is with stones... You better go to Allassio, 20 minutes drive...

Stayed here just a couple nights in August. Clean, well-run, excellent staff. Good food choices, but dining times limited. Overly administered with strange cash card, wrist bands, regimented mindset, and excessive charges for pool towels (why else does anyone come here except for the excellent, albeit slightly chilly, swimming pools?).
Very family oriented, so teens will be bored. Town worth exploring (for a half a day?), but it's a long walk, although there is shuttle bus (limited hours). If you're looking for quaintness or charm, or even something particularly "Italian," this won't do. It's somewhat antiseptic, very modern, and sterile.
(Incidentally, I asked why the place is called Loano2, and they said because it's on the outskirts of Loano it's effectively a new Loano. Well, why not!)
Note: this place is NOT on or near the beach.

  • Liked — well run, clean
  • Disliked — overly managed site, rules, etc. with inconsistent rules
