We went there yesterday evening and had a pizza salame and scaloppe with a white wine sauce. The pizza was quite large and thin and we could actually watch the pizzaiolo swing the dough through the air. The scaloppe was very tasty but a bit pricey, especially since there wasn't anything else but the piece of meat with the sauce on the plate. At 13 €, I expected at least some fries or lettuce on the side. They served some bread though, so it was still OK. The tiramisù looked homemade and tasted good, except for the chocolate powder which contained a lot of sugar and wasn't just cocoa powder as usual. But as I said, it was still good and not too expensive (5 €).

The best thing about this place though are the people who run it and work there. The waiter (I assume he's the boss' son) greeted us warmly and immediately switched to English, when he noticed that we weren't fluent in Italian. He helped us choose our dishes (no garlic in Italy can be tricky) and even checked with the kitchen to make sure everything was to our satisfaction before we ordered. After we left, the nonna (I assume she was the waiter's mum) ran after us and shook our hands, babbling in Italian and thanking us for having eaten at their place.

So today, we went back there but chose the other part of the restaurant which only serves pizza and foccacia, since we decided we wanted the food to go. We had the pizza speck e mascarpone (which was heavenly) and a special pizza funghi e prosciutto (which was also very good). We didn't have to wait for a very long time and once again, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I don't remember all the prices but our pizze cost 7.50 € each.

As if we were home, at grand ma's... :-)

Very warm welcome from the "nonna" (the boss) and from her son (the waiter). Service is fast, very friendly and effective.
The food is excellent and lots of it. The waiter is very helpful and helped us choose.. Of course, we did not get the chance to taste every course but I would highly recommend the black pasta with the sauce "al nero di seppia" and the "pasta alla carbonara di mare" - they are excellent. Also the seafood starter... and as a desert the cake made of a kind of vanilla cream, red fruits and alcohol.

We did not get the chance to taste as starters the "panzerotti con prosciutto e stracchino" but it looked delicious such as the "tagliata con fonduta di tartufo".

We were offered the digestives and when we came back a second time "la nonna" gave us a bottle of Limoncello homemade.
Even people who are not big fans of Limoncello and lime in general would love it !!!
La Cantina da Bruno : definitely a place to go !!!
