“The best of its type in Lecce”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2014

I've been back 3 or 4 times, and though it's going upmarket (the plastic cutley and cups has all but gone) it still serves basic local grub at basic prices. And 'basic' in Puglia when done well is excellent.

“A MUST-GO!! Delicious, inexpensive Puccias”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

This restaurant is truly a gem. While studying abroad in Lecce for 2 months this past summer, my friends and I went to L'angolino 2 to 3 times a week. For 5 euros, one can buy a Puccia (pizza like pita bread sandwich) that always comes with a choice of an unlimited amount of the freshest ingredients inside; this includes an assortment of delicious meats, cheeses, and vegetables. My friends and I became friends with the owner, Antonio, who was honestly the most hospitable restaurant owner I have ever met. He brought us free food more than once and it was obvious he was passionate about his restaurant and the happiness of his customers. At the end of the trip, on my last visit to L'angelino, he gave me a fedora to remember Lecce and the puccias by. I cannot speak higher of this place. You must go check out this special spot for yourself!!

“Puccias are the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 8, 2013

We spent 10 days in Lecce and visited Antonios shop each lunchtime we were within walking distance. We started with one puccia each but soon started to split one between us as Antonio allow us to continue adding fillings until we had created a two inch high puccias. Puccias are thinner than pitta breads, crispy and held together very well as we devoured them. Ciao, Antonio, you serve the best lunchtime snacks in Lecce.

“Great food but not a restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 29, 2013

The food here is great but you miss it if you blink. It is a tiny snack shop with maybe five ?? tables. Food however is great and amazing value for money . They bake the flatbread as you wait and you choose from about twenty? fillers. 15 euros for two large sandwiches and a half bottle of wine. Amazing

“Great, great lunch- be sure to go”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 25, 2013

what a delicious sandwich, you pick the items you want inside andthey fill the bread up with them. It is terrific. Little area outside to eat, right near the Piazza .
It is unusual, different and I am going to try and replicate it at home.
