“Puglie specialities in a modern setting”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

We spent a leisurely afternoon trying a wide selection of Leccese dishes in a piazza very close to the city center. Food was very good, and the actual restaurant interior is fascinating for wine lovers.

“Great ambience, good service, right price”
Reviewed October 3, 2013

We were suitably impressed with this restaurant. It was cool so we sat inside. A good range of local wines to choose from. Our choice - primitivo- teamed well with the horse, meat balls, octopus with spaghetti and bocconcini di pollo.

Our waitress was attentive and coped well with our limited Italian language. Our party of 4 felt they had value for money.

“A lovely spot for lunch”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

We stopped here for lunch on a scorching day and enjoyed a lovely meal in the shade. Pasta, salads and meatballs were enjoyed by us all. Excellent food and excellent value for money for the quality!

“A peaceful interlude”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

After a rather tedious trip round Lecce by a tourist guide, we fell into this place with gratitude. Had seen it earlier and thought it looked very shaded. We had the Frisa, it you are after something light to eat then this is ideal. Five star entertainment value in watching the world go by. The service was efficient and unobtrusive. I think they would have let us sit there all day. There's a large restaurant towards the end of a short pathway which looked equally inviting.

“Nice terrace and ambience but average food.”
Reviewed June 3, 2013

In fairness, the tables outside this restaurant looked tempting but it was a chilly evening and had I known there was a very nice wine/bar and restaurant in the back of the terrace that I couldn't see from where we were seated, I would have sat there.

The tables were situated in a pretty courtyard under cover of some awnings. The service was very slow (as they had to keep disappearing to serve the much busier bar in the back) and the food distinctly average. We had aubergines in cheese and tomato sauce, polpette in tomato sauce, fillet of tuna and a salad plus a drink; the bill came to 59 Euros which I thought expensive. We waited ages for a waiter to appear (maybe that's why they call them "waiters" 'cause you have to waiter long time! Boom, boom!) I then walked around the back, discovered the rather buzzy wine bar and paid the bill.
