We went to stay at Masseria Coccioli for four weeks in february/march 2011. We stayed in one of the apartments. The apartment was really nice and had all the necessities even for such a long period. The apartment has a nice terrace where we could eat our lunch in the sun.

The masseria in itself is full of history with for example a watchtower from the 14th century and a lovely dovecote. The owners, a family from Sweden, are dedicated in making all the renovations and restorations with care and with the history in mind. Since they know a lot about the origin of the masseria it is a pleasure to hear them talk about it and just walk around at the masseria imaging about how it once was.

Except nice rooms and apartments there is a big swimminpool and a really nice pool area for lazy days. There is a rellay big kitchen (good enough for top chefs) and a huge local where you can eat, meet friends or just hang out.

The surrounding of the masseria must be one of the best there is when it has lovely olive groves mixed with wonderful flowering meadows. To the seaside it is about four kilometers, and it is possible to borrow bikes to go there.

Nice to know is that there is a great market with all fresh fruit, vegetables etc every sunday at Casalabate which is closeby.

We made a lot of trips to cities like Lecce, Monopoli, Otranto, Santa Maria de Leuca, Putignano and Castellana Grotte which are all within one our drive.

We will come back to to Masseria Coccioli and can really recommend everyone to go there!

We found Hotel Masseria Coccioli by mistake on our way to Lecce and we are so glad we stopped. The inn is run by a great, friendly Swedish couple who could not be more helpful. They have been working for the past few years converting a historic masseria into a B&B. The B&B has a wonderful, five star hotel looking pool (huge), large, super quiet rooms with wonderful private baths, boccie ball court and bikes for hire. One of our favorite activities was taking the bike and heading out through the olive groves for an afternoon ride. The breakfast was a typical Italian breakfast except they had large cups of coffee. The masseria contains rooms converted from a stable and full service apartments too.

Just came home from a stay at Masseria Coccioli and would really like to recommend it.

The rooms were really nice renovated to keep the feeling of an old masseria.

The swimming pool was great for some lazy days and if you want to go to the beach it's just 4 km away.

The couple who owns it are very friendly. They have a big kitchen where you can cook your own food and one evening they arranged a barbeque party for all the guests. One evening they had a sommelier coming over for wine tasting with wines from the area.
