What is it about middle aged Italian men that makes them want to wear Budgie Smugglers? Mind you the women are nearly as bad wearing standard bikini bottoms that have been rammed into their butt crack so as to look like a thong bikini - hardly appropriate for a family water park!

We were a little unsure about going to Caneva after reading other reviews stating it was filthy, but this was not our experience of it. Sure it could have done with a lick of paint here and there, but it was clean.

Some of the rides were not for the faint hearted - Stukas Boom comes to mind. Basically you stand on a clear perspex floor about 100 metres in the air at the top of a flume. The ride attendant then presses a button and gravity take over! You plummet down the chute into the run off area at the bottom. The ride only lasts about 5 seconds but if you're an adrenaline junkie this ride is an absolute must.

There is a crazy river ride for which my wife and daughter queued for an hour and by all accounts was not worth it, maybe if the queue was only 20 minutes...

My son and I went on Black Hole 2 instead. The queue was about 25 minutes in total (15 to get the rubber ring necessary to ride the flume and another 10 to actually get on the ride), this was worth it but I would not really have liked to queue for much longer.

Both Anaconda and Trisplash were quite slow flumes, so much so that both adults and children alike would often come to a complete stop and have to push along with their hands!

Kamika was a good ride with a pretty steep drop.

Typhoon allowed up to 5 people to race each side by side.

The main pool, with a wave machine, was very busy when we went.

The food wasn't all bad. It was possible to get salad and fresh fruit as well as the usual fast food fayre.

We bought a two day two park pass as Caneva aquapark is twinned with Movieland next door.

We almost didn't go having read some of the reviews, but glad we did...also glad we just made it a half-day visit. Some of the slides were slow, and some rides had very long queues. Choice of food very limited. That said, there was a good variety of rides and we had a good time, and although it does need repainting in some areas (especially the changing areas) it wasn't 'dirty' as some people have said. We visited for half a day as part of a 2 day, 2 park ticket. We made the right move spending longer in Movieland.

my husband & I wanted to go the aqua park whilst were in Desanzano and were not disappointed. we took a bus to Pescheria and then used the free shuttle bus to Caneva Aqua-park,(every 30 minutes) we arrived after 1pm and so admission was £25 eruo's each and the park was open until 7.30. lockers were £5 eruo's and there were loads of them, with male and female changing facilitates (we had our swimmers on, so didnt use them). we loved the day out and would say is was value for money, we went on, the black hole (lots of times) twin peaks (a bit scary) lazy river (good fund), water jump (very quick, but fun) try-slide (went on these a few times) Typhoon ((five slides in a row- great fun) Anaconda (more of a tame ride, but still quick, plus loads more. Que times were shorter than expected, considering it was the summer holidays, lots of sun loungers, with shades, white sand, tropical fun music and a party atmosphere. Relaxing area, plus huge pool with wave machine and beach area around it, lots of different swimming pools- only downside.. food limited to burgers and donuts. Contrary to other comments, we found the park to be very clean, no litter, and no smells!! would definitely recommend and would go again

This park is seriously in need of a good scrubbing! I wouldn't go again if you paid me. Considering the number of people going through the doors and the prices they charge, you would think they could afford some bleach and mops.
I only went on the small children's rides so can't comment on the thrilling slides. There was not a huge amount to entertain a six year old though and if you've been to any of the American waterparks you are going to be bitterly disappointed. Save your money and use it to be an hour or two on a speedboat on lake Garda where the views are better and the water is cleaner

We returned after visiting the Aquapark in 2007.
In 2007 we noted the lack of health and safety and the place was filthy,no where to sit or lay,but we took a deep breath and enjoyed the day.
This time round no health and safety, still fithy,,no where to sit or lay,and hold your breath if you go anyway near the toilets or breathe through your mouth.
Saying that we had a lot of fun on the rides, crazy river being the best.
The queues were very long in the heat, and walking on the burning concrete was painful.
The wave machine pool was like pea soup, the quality of the water oily and murky,we must all have good immune systems.
There are lockers for a non refundable 5 Euros,in which we sensibly put money, watches, wallets, phones and glasses.
Our ruck sacks were too big to place in the lockers so we left them like everyone else unattended.
Unfortunately we returned at the end of the day to find 2 ruck sacks missing,I found one laying in a bush, thankfully still containing our clothing, but my husbands had been stolen,as had a bag of some-one else in the area and hers taken while she was there.
Unfortunately my husband's rucksack contained car and house keys and tickets for 6 people to visit Movieland, yes I know they should have been in the locker.
At the information point they took down the details and gave us 6 park tickets for Movieland.
We returned 2 days later and the ruck sack hadn't been handed in.
So I hope this warning will prevent this experience happening to any other visitors.
