Loved coming here, first time in Italy and it was wonderful. I am quite old for the entertainment but I admit it was great for kids! The swimming pools we're amazing! So many to chose from, especially if you can't keep out of the water like my younger cousin.

I went with my family, and my aunt and cousins, we had a lot where we were put next to each other which was nice. The staff were ever so friendly, and the place was just so clean, the shower rooms were lovely and spacious too.

The only downside to it, would be that the live entertainment and music, does go on for quite a while, up until about 11-12pm. And the music is loud, so ypu may want to bare that in mind if you go.
But other than that, I loved it very much and would come here again and again.

Piani Di Clodia is really a great campsite. The staff are extremely friendly (apart from some of the restaurant staff who can be a bit presumptuous when it comes to a tip choosing not to give you change and take it as a tip instead, which was slightly annoying!)

Very efficient staff though - we had a problem with our fridge which wasn't keeping anything cold. We reported it to the reception, went out for dinner and a new fridge was installed by the time we got back!

One slight complaint (and it is more to do with the region rather than this campsite specifically) is that the staff tend to presume if you aren't Italian then you are German which was rather confusing when I asked for something in Italian and got a reply in German! The sentences: non parlo tedesco (I don't speak German) and non sono tedesca (I'm not German) came in handy although generally a confused dumbstruck impression will do the job just as well! :)

The facilities are excellent and they have a great pool. Absolutely adored the aqua gym run by the animation staff. Only downside is that when the campsite is full it can get a bit busy but that is to be expected.

One of my favourite things about this campsite is the free shuttle bus they run to the nearby town, Lazise. It's a great facility and allows you to head into Lazise for dinner Sunday-Friday. During peak season there can be a lot of people using the service so be prepared to queue :) You are probably better off getting your gelato in Lazise (personally I loved La Cremeria), as the ice-cream stand by the bar isn't great. Although their hot chocolates with cream are absolutely amazing!!!

The accommodation is the average fair available in campsites. The cooking facilities aren't great so we ate out most of the time but otherwise the Maxi Caravan (which we stayed in) was perfect.

A very enjoyable trip in a very family-friendly campsite!

PIANI DI CLODIA is a great place with super facilities. The only thing bad to say, is that they don't have a good ice cream stand :-).

We stayed two weeks in their bungalows, with a view over the Garda Lake.

Their internet sucks, but you can buy 10GB of 3G at TIM for 35 EUR.

We just got back from a week stay in one of the bungalows and we had a great time. 2 kids (8 and 4 yrs) and they had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back. The kitchen was sufficient although we really only used the fridge and sink, but did not cook. Me and the kids enjoyed the bungalow, but my Wife would have preferred it to be a little cleaner and could not get comfrtable...seemed a bit too primative for her. We did not utilize any of the camping facilities, but some friends of ours were there at the same time and they have been pleased with their camping facilities for a few years now.

Only one of the pool areas were open during our stay but we thoroughly enjoyed it! 4 larger slides for the adults and big kids and another area with 4 slides for the younger kids. We did not use the beach area so can't comment. However, we very much enjoyed every part of the camping village that we used! Both restaurants on site are nice with a very good menu. The market in the village had pretty much everything we needed including a nice fresh bakery and deli section. The pool, kids club, mini disco, daily soccer tournament...our kids loved all of it! There might be a small fee for some of the activities, but all the activities that I mentioned above were free. They had so many activities throughout the day that we did not get to use many of them. I'm pretty sure they are all included free of charge, but you should check to make sure.

The staff was very friendly and almost all spoke very good German and many spoke some english. The restaurants do take credit cards, but not the store on site...only cash.

Some other activities in the area, Gardaland is a great amusement park, Sea Life is a decent aquarium nearby. Both are a 10-15 min drive. There is also a daily market that travels to a different town nearby every day...there is a set schedule. The market has many different vendors selling shoes, leather, clothes, towels, watches, etc. If this is something you would be interested, you might want to plan on some extra spending money because you will probably find quite a few shopping opportunities! We went to the market in Garda which was very nice, but we have heard that it's better when it's in Lazise which is a very nice town, especially spending a nice evening out.

Overall, Piani Di Clodia is not a 5-star palace...it's a camping village with campers and small apartments/bungalows so you can manage your stay according to your schedules/desires. From what we can tell, it's a very nice one that includes pretty much anything you would need for a 1 or 2 week stay. If you have kids, especially 4-12, I would highly recommend this place. I know we're already looking forward to our next trip!

Room Tip: I would recommend bumping up one size from the room that you would normally need. The bungalow that...

Our 2 families (4 adults 4 kids aged 8,8,5,4) spent 2 week camping at Piani Di Clodia from 22nd July to 4th Aug 2012. We arrived at lunch time (Sunday) and were lucky enough to get 2 premier camping pitches together close to the Lake and Swimming Pool. Overall this site is excellent value for money, with great facilities, 2 separate pool areas with slides, a supermarket on site that is well priced and has everything you could need, plus good restaurants and takeaways. There are 2 cash points on the site also. The site is probably 80% Dutch, with the rest made up from Germany, Belgium, Swiss and not many Brits. This was not an issue with us and we found our fellow Europeans to be friendly. There is evening entertainment spoken in English and Dutch, which the kids enjoyed. On an evening there is a free bus from the site which take you to nearby Lazise from 6.00pm and the last bus returning at 11.00pm. Lazise is a great town to visit with plenty of shops and restaurants. We also took a ferry from Lazise to visit Simione (well worth a visit) and Peschiera, cost was 64e for 2 adults and 2 children. We also drove to Malcesine (about 1 hour) and took the cable car up Mount Baldo (suggest you get there early as the queue was long at 11.00am) which is worth a visit and the town of Malcesine is stunning. The site is close to Gardaland, we went one evening (6.00pm to 11.00pm), the cost was 64e for 2 adults and 2 children and which was less busy and not as hot.
Would we return? definitely to this campsite, plenty of facilities and we felt safe, not sure about the drive from UK (Yorkshire) we travelled through Belgium, Germany (inc stopover) and Austria which was without any holdups going. Busy leaving Italy heading back to Austria.

Enormous and popular site. Well run to cope with the 900+ pitches. Very popular with families (some noisier than others). Pools were excellent – swimming lanes for those not wanting to scream and splash.
Sites feel very cramped in towards the lake, but with a bit of a walk up the slope much more space and privacy can be found.
Good on site facilities – bars, restaurants etc. which were fine for pizza / pasta / salad etc. (not amazing, not bad). Great little bus which runs into the town (lazise) – that was really good and thorough recommended to get out of the site.
We thought it was expensive to stay – to be fair it has a clear pricing structure and obviously popular but will probably try elsewhere next time.

Spent 2 weeks in a 2 bedroom bungalow (F3) with hubby and 2 kids (14 & 8). We arrived very late due to flight problems and reception was closed, But the security men were very helpful giving us the key and taking us down to our bungalow in a gold buggy as no cars were allowed in due to the late hour. Bungalow was very clean and quite spacious. Good outdoor space with table, chairs, loungers and umbrella.

The supermarket is quite well stocked, although you have to be there very very early to get the plain crossaints fresh in the morning! It is well priced with a good range of food. There is a lidl nearby but this was very cramped and very busy. You couldn't get 2 trolleys side by side in the aisles! Threre is a huge famalia supermarket about 4kms away in Pescheria which was fantastic. Massive selection of everything,

The campsite itself it very good. Excellent pools huge choice of slides and shutes. There wasn't the mad rush for sunbeds in the morning as we have experienced at Bella Italia, although most are taken by 11 am. Life gaurds are really good and stand no nonense from anyone, from toddlers to teenagers, they all got a whistle if required!

The restuarants are a mixed bunch. We ate in the formal restaurant twice and the food and service were great. We had the misfortune to eat in La terraze. AVOID at all costs, rude staff especially the waiter called Nicola!!!!! extremely busy and the Food was appalling. Worst meal I have ever had in Italy and I only had a pizza!

Lots of Dutch, German, Italian and a scattering of other europeans, Not very many english speaking. The Dutch are very rude and unfortunately you have to really stand up to them or you never get served.

Beware the courtesy bus to lazise, runs frequently and is an excellent service, but you have to hold your ground and shout to get yourselves on!!!

Overall Piani di Clodia is lovely and I would go back, but if you are looking for your kids to make lots of friends it;s not the place for you.
