Had a very pleasant meal here after a hike up the footpath from Porto. The homemade pasta and Arancinni were a particular highlight. The waitresses spoke good English and the service was quick. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Castello whilst on the Island.

Extremely friendly personnel will let you enjoy a very good meal in a very nice location. We had pizzas too, but this is nothing particularly special so - unless you are a pizza addict - we strongly suggest to stay on the pasta/fish side. This is their real speciality. They were so kind with some limoncello offered at the end of the meal. Nice terrace for the hot days. It's quite small so you might want to book it advance.

We stayed in giglio for a week and I think we went there to eat 5 times, it is such a nice place, inside and on the terrace. Food is excellent: the first day we had scalopina with wine and lemon sauce and grilled veg. very, very nice. once we had the fish starter and we had it again and then we had a big fish with tomatoes and potatoes. the crema catalana is excellent. the wine is excelletn and the pearls of the place are Roberta and Alessandra! Nothing can beat them: so sweet and funny, always a smile, always a laugh. The Pizzabaker is also very, very nice. (Excellent Pizza) and the manager/ owner: very serious, very professional and very kind. Oh could we just take this place with us.
Best wishes from the Vero and Hans

Just before going there, we read the ratings at Tripadvisor and were really looking forward to see this restaurant.
The service was friendly and attentive. They also gave us a menu in our language and also made it possible to add mushrooms to the pizza.
Why the bad rating?
We decided to take Bruscetta, Pizza and fried King Prawns.
Bruscetta: unexpextedly served with rocked instead of basil - and the olive oil didn't taste fresh.
Pizza: mushrooms definitely out of the can and slightly sour (all in all the pizza was ok)
King Prawns: realy looked good... but the smell ... definetely not as fresh as expected from a seafood restaurant.
A good service can not make up with a low quality food, so we were disappointed.

The restaurant is located at the entrance to the castle in the piazza where the bus stops. It was recommended to us by a shopkeeper after we discovered the one we were going to was no longer in business. We were greeted by two delightful young waitresses who helped us select our main course. For starters, we had aranccini "little oranges" (risotto or rice balls with mozzarella cheese and assorted other things inside, rolled in a coating and deep fried). Next we shared a local fish cooked Gigliese style and it was delicious. The only problem for us was that the bus service to the port where we were staying ended too early for us to have dinner here....so we came back twice for lunch. I'm dreaming of the aranccini now!
