You need to be really intersted in the history of the olive in Europe to get something from this tour. It is a very detailed historical look a how olives are harvested, pressed into oil, and the many uses the oil has. You cannot quickly go thru the tour and expect to get any value. Spend some time reading all the panels and viewing the many displays. Near the museum you can also see part of the modern day production facility and there is a store where you can purchase almost anything.

The museum itself is rather small but informative and interesting with modern technologies and rare ancient objects. With the museum ticket you can have a discount at a huge shop where you can buy different kinds of high quality olive oils, including D.O.P, preserves, confitures, local sauces (pesto), and cosmetics with olive extract.

Just next to the Station this modern, well presented museum is a nice way to pass an afternoon and is only €5 entrance fee.
You can see that a lot of money has been spent on this attraction, owned by the Carli family for a hundred years. The museum is well laid out to show the history of olive oil manufacture in the region and after the tour don't miss out on the very nice shop where you can buy many fine products related to the olive oil and cuisine of Liguria. There was a master class of Focaccia bread making on the evening of my visit but it was fully subscribed. I did however return the next day for their thrice weekly lunches highlighting their wonderful products. I had a wonderful three course lunch with wine, water and coffee for a very reasonable €15. This is highly recommended.
