“Great hotel!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 21, 2012

We are staying in this hotel at least 2-3 times a year (it is 3 years old), and every time we are more than satisfied. The rooms are big and modern, beds are comfortable, bathrooms are exceptional! They have a great wellness, maybe one small fitness room and it would be ideal. The beach is behind the hotel and centre is maybe 5 minutes walk. The hotel restaurant is also a great choice for a dinner. The only complaint would be that if you have a room above the small cafe that is connected to hotel, and when is warm to open the window you can hear people talking tiil the mid of night. But hotel itself is for me the best choice in Grado!

We were a family of four and stayed in a senior suite. the room was big, clean and modern with a huge balcony with a great view. Top quality. The Laguna Palace has also a swimming pool on the top floor. Great for both kids and adults. They have also a kids club and I recommend the breakfast. the cafe latte was 10 out of 10. You will find this hotel perfect. I recommend it.

The hotel is brand new (2-3 yrs old), with upscale quality and great customer service. I travel a lot and this is the first time that I see international quality standards applied to an Italian hotel located in a relative small town.
It is worth every penny!

The hotel has a "kid's club" but it is not a kid friendly hotel. The restaurant is expensive and doesn't offer reasonable options for families. Our air conditioning was broken for 36 hours, the temperature was 86 degrees F and we were told repeatedly that we weren't being patient with the air cooling system. Finally, they admitted the AC was broken in many of the rooms. After losing 1 night of sleep, we were relocated at 10pm when my children were exhausted and needing to go to bed. There was no room staff on duty so we had to transfer our sheets and bedding ourselves. It might have been nice if someone had offered to help since we were obviously struggling with 2 half asleep children in pajamas. Without prompting, the night clerk said she would adjust our bill for the inconvenience. The following day, at check out, 1 reception clerk was buried in her computer, and the other was unforgivably rude, did not believe that the AC was broken, did not believe we had been relocated and, after recounting the entire story, reluctantly credited us the wireless fee and towel rental - totaling about $20. None of this really would have mattered if the 2 desk clerks were at all pleasant.

Room Tip: The family suite with a view was comfortable for 4 but I wouldn't recommend the hotel because th...

How come that in 2012 Wi-Fi is not included in you room charge, especially when you take a suite? Only possible in the lobby part.

The check-in was particularly a long wait to get proper care and attention.

There is an excellent swimming pool at the top of the building for the hotel guests, with great panoramic view, including a sauna and an hamman.

TV system is very basic, very German oriented channels. Except some Italian and German channels, you can not find other proper European channels. Nor Asian channels. Nor HBO, MGM… movie channels.

All is written is German, like in all other restaurants and hotels around the area. So it could be very handy if you master it.

The suite room had a very nice view over the laguna. It has been refurnished in a standard way and renovated recently. Nothing fancy.

There is a possibility of safe parking in the basement of the hotel.

This hotel is a rather-basic building of six storeys, above all the other ones; so rather unusual in this village. Its style has no Italian touch, nor a particular signature.

We mentioned at our booking that we were on a wedding trip anniversary, and it was as well my birthday. However we got any special word, or given note/letter/flower…

On the check-out, no-one asked how was our stay.

With improvements, could be a nice 5/5 hotel.

I stayed at the Laguna Palace based on the excellent reviews here on TripAdvisor and was not let down. While most hotels in Grado (and in Italy in general) seem like they have changed little since the first world war, the Laguna Palace was clean and modern. Service was excellent, though that is normal in Italy.

I traveled with my small son and our room was very large so he had room to play, unlike in other hotels on our trip, which was excellent. The room was well furnished, with an excellent bed, and the pool on top of the hotel was great and the restaurant and breakfast as well.

The hotel is in a bit of an odd area surrounded by residential buildings but was a short walk to the beach, the old town, and the commercial strip, so not a problem.

The only thing that keeps me from giving it a higher review was that the plumbing in my shower had problems. I took a shower in the morning and everything was fine but then when I took one after the swimming pool the bathroom completely flooded. They tried to come fix it, but it still did not work well the next morning.

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for the lake view, or you will be looking at Italian Pensioners apartments with t...

I really like staying in this hotel, so far I stayed there for five times. The hotel is brand new (opened two years ago). The rooms are beautiful and cozy. And what I love in this hotel the most are:
- the swimming pool and sauna on the top floor, with magnificent wiev on the sea
- location directly on the sea shore
And the staff is always really friendly.
Internet: always works (which is really important since I come here always during my business trips)

Room Tip: all the rooms are beautiful. The suites with sea view are magnificent (although much more expensive)
