“Just beautiful!”
Reviewed July 3, 2013

I echo the reviews below. This is a beautiful peaceful setting and because it is on the side of a hill it is away from the noise of the lake side. Apartment (ground floor no. 3) was spotless although be aware that the kitchen does not have oven or microwave, just a four ring gas hob. You need to buy kitchen extras e.g. wash up liquid & cloths, salt & pepper etc as there are none of these supplied.

All apartments have the same beautiful view of the lake from their terraces. Apartments 1 to 5 are on the ground floor. Numbers 1 to 3 and number 5 do have a right of way through their terraces.

Do follow the route to Vittoriale and then onto Via Panoramica as it is the most direct way. The entrance to Villa Panaroma is through the gates of Villa Borgo degl Ulivi, this is not clear from sign posting.

Very pleasant owner but with very little english. Wifi in public places e.g. poolside and reception.
We really enjoyed our stay. :-)

We had a last minute booking and felt very lucky to find Villa Panorama. We went in late September, the weather was gorgeous, the skies blue and the the environment tranquil. We stayed 3 people on a corner two bedroom apartment and it was perfect. There is a terrace table and chairs with a perfect view of the lake.

We had some trouble finding the place, as we arrived late, around 10 pm. I'd advice to follow the route to the Vittoriale (a well known tourist attraction) and continue uphill Via Panoramica. There are two clear signs to the Villa Panorama, the entrance is off Via Panorama and is shared with another holiday residence. This creates some confusion, just carry on and you will find the Villa.

There is a very nice smallish pool, and it was really peaceful when we went. I would certainly recommend the shoulder season to enjoy the Villa and the lake. You will find all the restaurants and shops open but with less congestion and better prices.

Room Tip: The apartments on the corners are the best. Visit in September.

The pictures that you'll find on this site or the villa's own website just do not do justice to this wonderful holiday home. My wife and I spent a week in the small apartment on the second floor, which afforded a breath-taking view of Lake Garda. Everything was perfect - it was clean, spacious, shaded from the sun by the electrically-adjustable awning, had a lovely outdoor pool, a table-tennis table and vibrant flowers, trees and rockeries - and did I mention the view?

Honestly, you cannot do better than Villa Panorama if you're looking to holiday at Lake Garda. The proprietor doesn't speak much English, but was always eager to know if we were enjoying our stay. I'd advise you to get the fresh bread service every morning - it's lovely.

Overall, I cannot recommend this place highly enough. You will need a car as the road up the hill to the villa is both steep and quite long. Go and see for yourselves!

Just got back from a fantastic stay at the villa. Agree with previous reviews that you require a car as the centre of Gardone and Salo are to far to walk. For the best pizza (and I tried a few!), visit the restaurant above the villa. The views were superb, the villa clean and great verandah with sunbeds. Pool also clean, cool and quiet. As per previous reviews, owners don't talk English so visit Tourist Info in Gardone for all necessities at beginning of holiday.

  • Liked — Views & peace and quiet
  • Disliked — too far to walk to lakefront - need a car.

We just arrived home from a nice relaxing stay at Villa Panorama in Gardone. The accommodation is very clean and the owners are really friendly, allthough they don't speak too much English, don't forget the pack your phrase book!

We had a hire car which was definitely needed as the road is too steep to walk back from the few restaurants at Il Vitorialle. We also found this a nice place to tour the lake from as it's so central but if you like it lively then this is definitely not the place for you.

As it's the kind of place people tend to use as a base, going out in the day, we found the balcony difficult to use as we could hear our neighbours conversation in the evening - this is because it really is so quiet up here! However if you wanted a lazy day in soaking up that great view I'm sure you would have it all to yourselves.

We also had a bit of a complaint about our neighbour's (apartment 11) base guitar - it wasn't loud but the vibration sound was a little annoying. I would guess they own this apartment. Our room was one of the studio's and definitely big enough so this was good. The accommodation also has a pool which looked great, not much room around it so if you get there early you might not get too disturbed.

All in all, we would recommend Villa Panorama for a really good value base whilst touring the lake - we hadn't been self catering before and it was quite handy to save some cash by cooking sometimes - no oven though. We also couldn't find the bars that were mentioned that are near the lake - we tried looking in the car but the traffic isn't exactly slow in Italy so we must have missed the turn!

Other lovely places around the lake which we found on our touring and would highly recomend for a stay would be Sirmione, Riva, Lazise, Garda and Malcesine. All these had a choice of bars and resturants on your door step and of course superb views.

Having spent many hours in research, we settled upon these apartments. We had not been to this part of Italy before and we were not dissappointed. The apartments are within a 3-storey block, in a secluded spot abut a mile above the town of Gardone Riviera. Our apartment was "type b" with a seperate double bedroom as well as 2 sofa beds. TV was provided along with a nice kitchenette. No aircon.

I have stayed in bigger apartments but there was plenty of room for two. However, the view over the lake more than makes up for any inadequacies. It is stunning; and with each apartment getting its own terrace, with sun beds provided, it was difficult to tear ourselves away and do any shopping or sightseeing.

Spotlessly clean and the friendly (non-english speaking) owner lives on site. You will need a car though (parking provided).
