Quirky, interesting, even bizarre. Worth a visit, especially with a 20 percent discount card.(available at the tour office opposite the ferry ticket kiosk.)

Interesting place to visit. Picturesque grounds and some strange things to see --also the history of the man who lived here.

A must if you are staying in Gardone. Perched high above the lake the house itself is absolutely amazing, like no other you have ever seen. The Gardens are fascinating and very odd indeed-they include the Prow of a warship built into the landscape.

This place has to be seen to be believed!! However, if you have limited mobility then do not attempt the gardens. The house is amazing, never seen anything like it, what a man to have collected so many things! And to be on a ship in the garden!!

This truly was an incredible place to visit. I had not heard about Gabriele d'Annuzio prior to visiting and found him to be a fascinating character.
The tour of his home was better than I expected...we didn't have too much of a wait and our guide spoke excellent English and had a great sense of humour. Well worth the extra Euros to be able to view the thousands of items crammed into each room and to have everything explained.
I'd recommend at least 2 hours here, I stayed for 3 and I still didn't think it was enough.
