“Perfect place to relax”
Reviewed August 23, 2013

This hotel exceeded all expectations. After six hectic days and extreme heat in Venice it was the perfect place and location to relax in a luxurious setting! All the staff were friendly cheerful and courteous. Special thanks to Barbara, Marika on Reception and Patrik,Maurizio and Cristian in the Restaurant. They made us feel very welcome. The facilities were great and we could have spent a lot more time enjoying them but we were keen to explore other towns around the lake. Definitely looking forward to a return visit!

Room Tip: First floor lakeside view. Perfect

This was our first trip to Lake Garda and can only describe the area as beautiful. The hotel is first class with all of the staff being very friendly, they simply can't do enough to help.
The cleanliness not only of the rooms but of the whole building is exceptional. Although the building itself is old it has a very relaxed feeling about it.
We stayed in a junior suite which had a lake view, the room was very well laid out with a balcony looking over the lake together with a huge bathroom.
I would not hesitate to either stay at this hotel again or recommend it to anyone .... No one should be disappointed with these standards.

Room Tip: The junior suite with lake view, the room size is huge and the view stunning.

This is the second time at this hotel and as always it was wonderful. The views are stunning and the service is perfect.
We had a lake view room with a huge bed and slept extremely well the whole 6 nights. Our son also travelled with us and had a single room in the far wing of the hotel, and this room was not a patch on the double rooms. The corridor had a strange varnish smell to it and it was worse in his room. The smell got so bad it gave him a dry throat, so we asked to be moved, which they did, but only to a room two doors down which also smelt and had very poor air conditioning.

We had booked bed and breakfast but decided to try the a la carte restaurant one night. The food and service was excellent, however our table was in the middle and because the restaurant is under a large canopy without air conditioning it was stiflingly hot. In the end it got so bad that once we had eaten our dessert we made a hasty exist for some much needed fresh air. It was a real shame, because it is very pretty with lantern hanging from the ceiling and the wonderful views of the lake.

There were always plenty of sun beds on the jetty and it was extremely refreshing jumping in the lake. I did notice that they do not appear to have waiter service around the pool and jetty anymore, if you want a drink you have to go to the pool bar and order it, which is not a problem, but I am curious why they stopped it.

This hotel had old fashion charm and is in superb romantic location. Staying at this hotel always makes me feel relaxed and calm and I come home feeling like I have had a proper holiday.

Fantastic service, food and lake views - probably the best holiday hotel we have ever stayed at. The half board option is great value as the food is really excellent. We also used the fine dining restaurant which was fabulous.

Took the wife for our 21st Anniversary.
The hotel is simply stunning, staff and grounds manicured to death.
Why would you not have a lake view room? We were room 329, fantastic view buth below this could have been obscured by the trees ( manicured again)
Choice of sunbathing decks with steps or platform to dive into the lake for a cooling swim.
We went B&B so we could explore a little, breakfast was fine, lots of choice, the restaurants were always busy but not overcrowded.
Every night in Winnies Bar for cocktails and a bit of live music and a dance.
Living in London the prices didnt even raise my pulse, i would have paid double to sit on the edge of the lake and be served by such superb staff.
The room we had was perfectly fine, clean and tidy always, the decore is, yes a little tired in the room but not at all offensive, who gos to the lake to stay in the room. The main areas of the hotel are fabulous.
My pet hate is water pressure for shower in the morning, no problems here.
Boat trips from the adjacent pier is a must, time table and discount vouchers from reception.
This is the quiter part of the lake, and from what i saw on the boat trips the best bit.
The local bars and restaurants are also great.
Boat trips to teh markets, reception has details.
I will definately be going back, for a longer trip next time.
Book it, and enjoy.

Room Tip: Lake view upper floors

Lovely hotel, comfortable and spacious with excellent staff. Would have to agree that the people who bag the sun beds before breakfast are a pain but there were usually enough and we didn't want to spend all day by the pool anyway. Great to have the ferry just outside. Easy trips to Garda, Salo and Limone. 20 minute walk back from Salo if not too hot. We were half board and the food was fabulous. Loved the salad bar and always loads of fresh fruit. This was our fifth trip to lake Garda, it has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Will definitely return to the Grand.

Room Tip: Ask for a superior lake view in the newer bit past the swimming pool.

Usually after seeing photos and brochures of a hotel there is something that lets you down when you go there, certainly not in this case, it is superb. The service, food and comfort were outstanding as were the staff. Of course the surroundings made it complete.

Room Tip: The lakeside views from our room were superb and very peaceful
