La Villa Fasano
Reviewed August 16, 2012

The location of la villa Fasano is in the middle of a mountain around the western shore of the Garda lake in Gardona Rivera . The villa itself was well equipped, even though when we enter the villa it was an empty house, especially in the kitchen area: no salt, no sugar and not even oil, it is recommended to stop in the supermarket before entering the villa for the first time. The rooms were air conditioned (a must at the summer) also there was a swimming pool. We stayed there for a week and each morning i enjoyed drinking the morning coffee sitting on the balcony and have the view of the lake.
However, two things disturbed us:
1. Their poisonous mosquitoes that no spray or cream could protect us from their bites and
2. Their the very narrow and steep roads to enter the villa, so that when you drive to your villa there is a special pray for the driver, “please god do not let any car come in front of me”, since if the pray did not work and you could see other car coming toward you, than on of them need to turn back and driving a reverse in those road is not recommended at all.
Now, since we drove to our villa at least twice a day, this task was only mine. My wife refused to drive there (and trust me, she is a better driver than me).
The roads down the mountain to the villa are narrow and usually have sharp turns, avoid coming there with large cars. We had a rented Peugeot 5008 and some turns were very hard to drive there.
Of course, the price of such a villa is cheap considerably to other villa in the area (a difference of about 40 Eur or even more, per day)
For overall, Go there but take a smaller car and drive carefully there.

Room Tip: Stop in the supermarket prior to entering the villa for first time

Villa Fasano is a lovely villa with great views over Lake Garda, accomadation good but could do with a few more kitchen accesories, no oven gloves, dishes for cooking in oven, dish washer had no tablets when we arrived so we had to buy a big box which we left, we had ordered linen but it did not include a tea towel so we had to buy kitchen rolls. things like these are normally standard when you hire apartments, as there is no one resident on site you have to ring the owners when you want something, we did mention at the end of the holiday about these things but were told they are not normally provided, but it is all extra cost on your holiday budget, The advert for the Villa does say secluded IT IS you need a car to get out and about , but the road up is a bit scary, if you meet another car not good, 1 eating place walkable but up a dirt path and a bit uneven underfoot. so we ate in most nights, did go out twice for an evening meal but it meant the driver coud not have a drink.
All in all great holiday but a few minus points

We spent an enjoyable week here. The villa was virtually empty so we had a really quiet stay. The pool and facilities were very good. The owners really helpful and friendy. The villa was well equipped. It is, however, a fair distance up a very narrow and windy road so you really need a car. Also fasano is quiet and you need a car to see other parts of the area - not enough for more than a couple of days in Fasana / Gardonne alone.

La Villa Fasano is a small family run collection of 10 apartments. The family house has been converted into the 10 apartments. It is situated in Fasano, a small village on Lake Garda, Italy. The apartments are set in the hills above the lake giving absolutely stunning views of the lake and surrounding areas. The accommodation is basic, but has everything you would expect. With only 10 apartments it's very quiet. There are two swimming pools and other than the apartments that's about it. The host, Sergio, is so laid back its unbelievable. He didn't look for a deposit before we got there and even when we were staying there, we had to go looking for him at the end of our seven days so that we could pay him. For the area and the time of year, the price was very reasonable. For a two room apartment for myself, my wife and my 6 year old daughter in July it cost €100 per night.

Overall, the accommodation is basic but clean. The location and views are stunning. And the price is very reasonable.
