Our third visit to Lake Garda and this time we booked independently instead of through a travel agent. This hotel is an absolute gem! The hotel is lovely, rooms were very clean and modern and the bathrooms spotless! Breakfast was great, lots of choice and the staff were more than happy to make something at your request. The air con was FAB!! Temperatures outside were over 87 degrees so we were very impresses with how cool the room was.

2 minutes walk to the ferry and had a great restuarant opposite at the Silvestro. We had a fantastic meal on our last night and some of the choices included Taglietelle with hare which my husband had. Real home cooking!! Would definately recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: No lift but only 2 storeys and the staff will carry your bags to and from your room. Full sun all a...

We stayed for one night at Benaco, and it was a very pleasant stay.Big, recently refurbished rooms, nice bathroom and a short walk to Lago di Garda and shops and restaurants.
Staff was very friendly and helpful, as there is no elevator to carry your luggage.
Breakfast was a surprise, as italians don't usually care much about breakfast: it was delightful, everything there you could wish for, fresh fruit salad, scrambled eggs, cheese and child cuts platter, muesli,....and good coffee, too.
We would certainly stay there again.

Garda is a lovely place on its own so it was nice to stay there regardless. The Benaco hotel sits on the main road but that did not bother us at all. Free parking is offered some 600 metres away.

Our room was tidy and the bathroom clean. We had to drag up the luggage to the third floor but that was only because pride made us refuse the free help we could have gotten.

Very friendly staff and good breakfast. We only stayed for one night but we certainly could have enjoyed a few more.

Splendid hotel for couples and singles - I would probably not advise it if you were bringing young kids.

Room Tip: Room at the front have a little terrace

Hard to find a room in Garda but remembered this from a TripAdvisor review. Great lady at the front desk explained everything and even parked our car up the street so as to avoid a 700 meter walk to the hotel's parking lot. Hotel Benaco itself was full so we were sent across the street to Hotel Silvestro, which must be a sister property. The room was large but the included buffet breakfast was horrid. Very minimal with cold coffee and no hot water for tea. The kiwi was so hard as to be inedible. The adjoining restaurant was fine- at least it was away from the noise and smoke of the lakeside restaurants. Just a half block away is the ferry, numerous restaurants and shops. We used to stay at the Hotel Regina Adelaide but the price has become prohibitive. So it looks like Hotel Benaco is our new favorite.

A friend and I stayed here for a night on our way from Munich to Venice. We arrived around 9 and were greeted by a friendly host at the front desk. After showing us to our room, she gave us several good recommendations for dinner. We decided to take the most convenient one, across the street and it was just right for a quality late Italian dinner.

Things you should know: Some of the parking is off site, approx. 600m, which was no problem for us, we just dropped off our bags, drove to the parking structure, and walked back. I was just happy it was free, and didn't mind the extra walk. I believe they may also have parking closer by, but I'm not sure.

The furnishings were very nice, modern in the lobby and comfortable in the room, with a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was pretty typical European spread, but I would say above average compared to some of the other places I've stayed.

Overall we had a very pleasant stay and I would stay again if I find myself back in Garda. Oh yeah, they also gave us a very nice parting gift just for staying with them!

We stayed here for 6 nights in August, The hotel is small spread over two floors with the most stylish lobby ever. The staff are very nice considerate and informative. The hotel itself is litrally less than two mins walk from the lake front and from the ferry port of Garda and a vast array of shops. The rooms were spotless and very quiet. Our air conditioning was leaking watr after it was on for a while but this didnt spoil our stay. The only downside was that there was no pool however the hotel can provide you with guest passes for Garda Aqua a beautiful spa with massive indoor and outdoor heated pools where you can rent sunbeds and parasols for 8e per day it also has a nice cafe serving ices, pizza crisps sweets etc. There is a free shuttle bus to here from just outside the hotel but its not that frequent i wouldnt suggest walking to Garda Aqua mostly uphill 15 min walk in the dead heat!! The breakfast was lovely fresh fruit croissants pastries ham cheese bacon eggs bread cereals and the most beautiful coffee! If you are looking for a hotel very close to the lake this is it beautiful, however the lack of a pool just outside makes us reluctant to return however we love a pool but for others there is a beautiful kind of waled garden walk along the lake front where people bathe but it is all stones no sand. Very happy with this hotel and a sincere thanks to the staff you couldnt meet nicer

We spent two weeks travelling the south of France and north of Italy and our stay here in hotel benaco was definitely a highlight. Beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the lake, very clean and spacious. Breakfast every morning was a real feast.they have thought of everything.also, the lady in charge of serving breakfasts each morning must be commended for her friendly and welcoming service. We loved our stay here and definitely recommend it to others. the only down point we experienced was the narky unfriendly owner-she could definitely learn some customer service tips from her lovely staff.but overall, its a must stay
