A great little hotel in an old building overlooking the marina in Garda. As with any old building there is a lot of character here but mixed with the comtemporary decor. The staff work both in the restaurant below and hotel so there is always someone around to help. I've stayed in many hotels large and small here in and around Garda and this is my favourite not only for its style but great staff, good restaurant, great location - but be warned it will be busy in summer - good sized rooms too. I also like having my own key so I can come and go as I please which this hotel gives. There is a lift in the hotel but there is also one set of steps up to the reception area, just in case steps are an issue.

Perfect location, friendly service, nice, large and comfortable rooms recently refurbished. The hotel has it all…or almost: cleanliness could have been better (do they know that one should clean also under the bed…?), and breakfast could have been a bit more generous - however I put this down to the fact that I visited the hotel in winter, in the low season. Maybe in spring and summer it is different. Having said that the area is very calm and waking up in the morning and seeing the boats floating on the lake and the fishermen tending to their nets makes you forget everything...
I did not try the restaurant because it is closed in the low season.

Room Tip: If you can, go the extra mile and book a room with a balcony: the view on the lake is priceless.

What a find. Kept walking past this restaurant and decided to go in and get out of the rain. We ordered our usual half litre of house wine and perused the extensive menu. After a glass or 2 later, we opted for the seafood pasta and scampi pasta. WOW. We both could not believe the size of the portions and it was absolutely delicious. Washed down with another half litre of house wine and a portion (enough for 2) each of their fab tiramisu, its hardly surprising when I returned to Scotland, my jeans no longer fit.

This restaurant is so good, we returned another lunchtime, I had to have the seafood pasta again and my partner had the tuna carpaccio (pinched a bit and OMG brilliant) and a pizza.

You can sit inside, which we opted for both times, or outside in their extensive seating area. I even left armed with their tiramusu recipe which I will attempt to make one day soon.

The staff are lovely, in particular the lovely young lady who served us both days. If we go back to Garda, this will be our first port of call.

Have just spent a wonderful week at Hotel Remat; Alberto and his staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Everything you need is in this beautiful hotel - the modern mixed with the old (and we were lucky enough to have a balcony, where we sat and watched beautiful sunsets over the lake in the evenings), ideal location, and the food - although we did try a couple of other restaurants, they could not be compared to the Remat - there are no words to describe the delicious food that we were lucky enough to have been served. The service from the staff was so attentive that it made you feel really welcome, especially from Enuncio who was always there with a smile at breakfast through to the evening and the help he gave us on our last day when our taxi was waiting for us in the wrong location. Wonderful staff, wonderful hotel, wonderful food - would certainly stay again and would not hesitate in recommending this amazing hotel. Thank you Alberto and your brilliant staff for making this a really memorable stay.

First night Entrecôte steak so beautiful you could cut it just buy looking at it

Second night scampi platter, not the breaded muck you get in packets in UK but 6 small lobster size prawns/langoustines.Biggest I've ever seen

Service typically Italian, passionate but chaotic at times. So passionate we witnessed very entertaining argument between two grown men over one empty bottle not collected.

Brilliant food and excellent prices for the quality of ingredients and cooking on display

A must visit location if in Garda

What a view from the bedroom window! Right on the lake with a great restaurant out front (10% off for guests). Bed and bathroom were fantastic. Breakfast was served by the most friendly waiter - I recommend the omelette. There is a guest lounge which is great when travelling with friends. this is a small hotel, right on the harbour and a perfect getaway location.

Room Tip: Room 7 has a great view of the harbour and dining areas below. Room 9 is large but has a skylight wh...
