Stayed at the Hotel Virginia for a week B&B at the end of May 2012 which we booked independently. The hotel is spotless and the rooms are spacious. We paid a little extra for a balcony room with lovely views of the surrounding hills. The breakfast was excellent, typically continental with a good selection of cereals fruit ham cheese eggs etc. We booked a car at Verona airport and again the hotel offer free underground about 300 yards away. Though the delightful old couple, who run the hotel, speak little English, all correspondence was easy via e mail with their daughters who speak good English. The hotel does not take credit cards so cash is king. Another couple staying had their taxi from the airport arranged through the hotel. The location is ideal in a quiet street yet only three to five minutes walk from the restaurants and lake.

Room Tip: A balcony room is worth the little extra

Fantastic. Room spotless staff very helpful & friendly, had a singing lady cleaning our room every day. Good choice at breakfast which was constantly replenished with fresh food. Lovely owners who spoke no English but could make themselves understood and their daughters were around who did speak English. Can't wait to return next year. Bruder Heald Green England

We have just returned from a week's holiday in Garda and would agree fully with the previous reviews of this hotel. We found it to be spotlessly clean, convenient, quiet and comfortable. the owners and staff are welcoming and friendly (and very tolerant of my beginner level attempts at Italian!) We would recommend it very highly to couples looking for a well run, inexpensive and well situated bed and breakfast hotel in Garda.

Room Tip: We paid a small supplement for a room with a balcony which we felt was well worth it- nice to sit ou...

This hotel is ideal as a base to discover Lake Garda and beyond. It is spotlessly clean and the rooms are quite large and spacious. The service is very good too, although there was a bit of a language barrier as the old couple on reception do not speak hardly any English. There was plenty for breakfast: cereals, eggs, ham cheese, yoghurt, fruit, toast, croissants etc., and they opened up early if you gave then notice when leaving early on trips. When we arrived the weather was beautifully sunny but we had quite a bit of rain during the week. A pool would have been nice to relax on days when you were not sightseeing and the sun was shining. The hotel is really handy for the town, just a few minutes walk to the shops and restaurants, and it's a pleasant walk into Bardolino. Lake Garda is beautiful and I would recommend the Lake tour which takes you to the most popular towns all around the lake. We also went to Venice and Florence, long days but worth it, and Verona is very interesting too.

Located on a quiet road just a few minutes from the town centre. Run by an elderly couple who speak no English but are very helpful and attentive. Spotlessly clean throughout. Our room on the ground floor was a reasonable size with a safe, TV (BBC News!), good wardrobe and decent bathroom. Beds a bit on the hard side. Aircon was effective and simple to operate. Breakfast was the usual dull fare and the room could do with some background music to make it feel a bit more relaxed. This is a perfect place for anyone just wanting B&B (can be hard to find in Italy) and a place to sleep.

My husband and I stayed here from 18/06/11 to 25/06/11. We had a lovely stay here in this charming hotel. Whilst the owners did not speak English, this was not a problem. Their daughter was on hand to explain anything that you needed to know. The whole hotel was spotless! There was a real homely feel to it as well. Breakfast was more than adequate and the owner was very attentive in replenishing the array of food every morning. I was particularly touched by her acknowledgement of my birthday which was the Friday before we left. We arrived for breakfast that morning to find some roses on our table! With my limited knowledge of Italian, I was discovered that she had taken note of this on our arrival. Obviously I was delighted with this and let her know this. These are the small touches that make your stay memorable. I definitely would return and have no hesitation in recommending the hotel and it's location to others. The only thing that would improve an already perfect visit would be a swimming pool for the times when you return hot from your days adventures.

Just returned from a weeks stay at the Virginia and have only good things to say about it. As others have mentioned the owners dont speak English but this really didnt cause us any problems at all, their daughter was on reception when we checked in and spoke very good English and welcomed us with a cold glass of wine which was most welcome. The Virginia is spotlessly clean and the service throughout our stay was faultless. It is a couple of minutes walk from the lake shore, reataurants (of which there are many), ferry terminal and bus station, In addition its only a minutes walk from La Meta Caffe which is very handy if you happen to drop in for a nighcap on your way back to the hotel. Thanks to evrybody at the Virginia for making our first visit to Garda such an enjoyable one. "Grazie Mille"
