Stayed at the Terminus for a week with my wife and her parents.

The location is great. Worth staying here just for that. Its right on the lake and just a short walk to the centre of town where most of the restaurants and bars are. Although there are still plenty near the hotel.

Breakfast was really good. Lots to choose from and a nice outdoor setting.

From 4 until 6 each evening they lay on complimentary tea, cake and chocolate cookies. This was a nice touch and a good way to round off a day's sightseeing in the 35 degree heat.

The ladies working there were all very friendly. And they all seem to appreciate the effort if you try out some Italian.

Although it didn't spoil our stay, the hotel could benefit from a revamp. Its all a bit dated and in need of new bathrooms and the introduction of air con. We had a decent ceiling fan though but some rooms just have desk fans that you would find in an office.

Part of the ceiling fell in in my in-laws' room. They were moved to another room without fuss and given a bottle of Prosecco as an apology. Really good service.

We had a great time here and recommend it

My wife and I had a wonderful stay here at the beginning of June. Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We had a really nice room with a fabulous view of the lake. The room was a decent size as was the ensuite toilet. Everything was spotlessly clean as well. Location is superb, the lake is right on your doorstep and only a two minute walk into the centre of Garda, and the walk is glorious along the lakeside. The buffet breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice between hot and cold food and there is a lovely terrace outside the dining room to enjoy it in.
Plenty of restaurants and bars only a short walk away. As other reviewers have said, boat trips are excellent, really enjoyed the sail to Sirmione(18 euros return), the castle there is amazing as is the town, so picturesque. Other highlights are Malchesine, Limone and Riga, these are all a must see. Malchesine (45min) and Riga (1 hr) are easy to get to by bus, which are frequent. Limone (9 euros return) is only a 20min boat ride across the lake from Malchesine.
A wonderful holiday, and would definitely stay at the Terminus again if we return to Garda. The only minus was a lack of air conditioning in the rooms, not a problem in June as there was an excellent fan, but in August it could get a bit uncomfortable.
One last word of praise for the owners who kindly put together a packed breakfast for us as we were leaving early for the airport. There was enough food and drinks, which was superb, for a family of six. Thanks so much again for a great stay.

Room Tip: Definitely pay the extra for a lakeside view, worth every penny. We had a corner room which was love...

We've just had two very hot weeks on the shores of this great lake. The ceiling fan worked for us, so long as you learn when to open the shutters & windows to change the air. Breakfast was great with a wide choice, the best we've had in Italy. Beds were comfortable, en suite a good size and large shower. Everywhere was spotlessly clean. We asked for top floor, balcony and lake view and were delighted. Tea and cakes at 4pm, on the same front terrace as breakfast, was great. It is a busy location so expect noise, from the council's cleaners, locals motor bikes, and live music from various sources. Hey this is Italy (nessum dorma and all that!). More restaurants, bars and ice cream parlours than we've seen anywhere in Europe, we gave up trying to count them. Boat trips are a must, take a fast boat across the lake for shopping followed by lunch and a slow boat back for tea, heaven. The buses are great as well, faster and cheaper. Finally, the owners, family and staff were all friendly, very helpful and efficient. I declare an interest because they kindly presented me with a fine bottle of Prosecco on my sigificant birthday. We would definitely return.

Room Tip: Decide if you want sunshine on your balcony for hours on end. Or choose one in the shade and use the...

Just got back from a great week in Garda with 7 days of glorious weather. We booked the Hotel Terminus so as to get a balcony with lake view at a reasonable price. The view exceeded all expectations and for the price the hotel was great. There are a couple of small gripes, firstly the bathroom could do with modernising but was perfectly adequate. The second as mentioned elsewhere was the lack of air conditioning, our room did have a ceiling fan which helped but on a high setting was noisy. The only other concern was at night it was noisy but we did have windows open.
The staff were very helpful, there was excellent breakfasts and a wonderful free afternoon tea with great cake. I would definitely recommend staying here and would certainly return again.

Room Tip: Make sure you try and get a balcony room with a view of the lake

We had a very hot week in Italy last week and this was the only hotel that had no air conditioning during our stay in various cities. Suffice it to say that we were miserable. There was no reprieve from the heat when we got back to our rooms. In addition to no a/c our room opened up to a sunning deck open to the guests of the hotel which meant we really could not leave our patio door and window open at night.
Interestingly we had twin beds which made for strange sleeping arrangements after 20 years of marriage.
The relatively new owners have been refurbishing the hotel incrementally and plan on adding a/c this winter.
The location was fabulous, the service was very courteous and we had a fabulous breakfast every morning. Loved the proximity to the water, restaurants and ferries.

Room Tip: Ask for room not on the sunning deck. I would avoid the top floors during warmer weather because th...

When we arrived at the Hotel we realised that we had made an error and had booked a balcony/terrace but not a lake view and had been allocated a room at the rear of the hotel. The receptionist couldn't have been more helpful and we were able to relocate to a lake view room at only a small extra cost. The week we stayed, the temperatures were in the 90s,(not usual for the time of year) and although we had a good ceiling fan, we could have done with air conditioning. Also there was tremendous road noise as we were in a corner room with the road alongside, and were unable to open windows at night. However, the hotel was spotlessly clean, the breakfasts were superb and we ate outside on the terrace every morning. This hotel is brilliant value for money and although the owners do not speak English the staff do.

Room Tip: Do not pick a room alongside the road. There is a lot of traffic noise until late into the night, an...

Although this hotel is in need of some modernisation it is very clean with a homely atmosphere and has an excellent location in Garda. We booked a room with a balcony and a view of the lake, which was very good. The staff are friendly and helpful and benefits from being family run. The breakfasts were very good, We would recommend this hotel.
