Just returned from a week at La Perla Hotel. As the holiday was to celebrate my parents golden wedding anniversary and they are in their 80s we wanted a hotel that was central to garda. The location was great, very close to the town and convenient for the bus station. The rooms were a bit dated but we knew that because we had read the reviews before going.
The half board option was good value and the hotel were flexible - encouraging you to have lunch instead of dinner if they discovered you would be out at dinner time. Food was good if not very varied. The salad bar was fresh with a good variety of choices. Breakfast was just right.
The pool was lovely - big, spotless and with plenty of sun beds. It was accessed via an underpass which was not evident from the brochure photograph.
My father enjoyed sitting on the balcony of his room just watching the world go by. The views of the mountain and the lake were mesmerising.
We spent a happy day cruising around the lake to Limone. Went to the Dolomites on a day trip and spent a day in Venice so plenty of sights to see.
Would recommend this hotel as a lovely base for a relaxing break or for sightseeing.More
