Like all the other British people in the hotel, I booked this as a last minute, allocate on arrival at the airport deal. For what I paid, it was value for money. But, that isn't really the point. It was advertised as a 3* and I bought the holiday on that basis. It looked as though it was built in the '60s or '70s and had no money spent on it since then. I took a brochure with me so I could see what was advertised in the brochure for this hotel. It said air con was switched on from 1 July. That may be true, but it simply didn't work for most of the holiday and was ineffectual for the remainder. The staff did their best. They were good natured, polite and helpful. The place was spotless. But this did not hide the fact that this was not 3*. The hotel is part of a chain, can't remember the name. But Palme Suite is the sister hotel. Reviews for that hotel look similar to my impression of Royal.
Garda, and Lake Garda, are beautiful. Do go there. Just don't stay in this hotel. It's dreadfulMore
