“Returned a couple of weeks ago from our 8th annual visit to The Garden”
Reviewed June 16, 2014

Once again we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely old country house hotel - it truly is like returning to old friends. Where else would we get big hugs like those from our chambermaid Lucia when she first spots us again? All the staff recognise and greet returning guests and
provide excellent and courteous service to all the guests - nothing is too much trouble for them.

Other reviewers tell you all about the facilities at the hotel and in Garda town (only a short stroll) ferries to other places and so on. The hotel can also arrange trips for you it you want, and supply bus and train and ferry timetables. There are usually guests at the hotel from all age ranges ( we are old).

Having Been There, Done That in our younger days on 3 of the northern Italian Lakes, we are happy to just while away the days in lovely surroundings doing whatever we feel like at the time. We have lunch at one of the many nice restaurants next to the lake, or sometimes at the hotel.

The reason we keep going back to this hotel is that we know what to expect and we know it meets our requirements. If you prefer hotels with Happy Hours and entertainment provided, you wouldn't like this hotel.

If you like small privately owned hotels with very comfortable rooms and superb service, The Garden needs to go on your list - you won't regret it.

Room Tip: Unless you only use room to sleep in, the extra charge for a lake view room is worth it.

Just had a fortnight at this hotel in the wheelchair accessible room with the roll in shower. It is a lovely hotel in a good position but it is up a small hill so either carer has to be fit or you need an electric wheelchair. If you don't walk at all room is quite tight but very clean. Bathroom is fine plenty of space. Narrow balcony but it is accessible. Lift just big enough for the wheelchair so check dimensions for yourself. Very helpful and friendly staff. Pool area is lovely. Ramp up to dining room is quite steep and you need to ask when you want to go in or out. Continental breakfast good. Evening meals mostly good usually a choice of fish, meat or cold dish. However some were disappointing and too much veal. Overall a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the front with a large balcony and views of the lake.

Beautifull location, lovely swimmingpool, professionel staff and near to the city (only 150 m).

We had looked forward to the italien kitchen, but the meals were quite ordinary without fantasy.
But the hotel is beautifull and we will recommend vacation without pension.

Room Tip: Remember to make sure, - rooms with sea wiev

My wife and I spent a very enjoyable week in Garda recently, the Italian Lakes are beautiful and
the hotel we stayed at was The Hotel Garden in Garda. It was a former family home and remains in the hands of a very pleasant family who all take an interest and take part in its day to day running.
We had a balcony room with a view of the lake and the hotel pool and grounds, it was a small room but quite comfortable, when we return we have been promised a better and larger room,
I say when we return because it is our intention to visit Garda again and the Hotel Garden certainly has fond memories for us, the staff were incredibly helpful and courteous and that includes the family members we met. The hotel is very clean and the grounds and gardens alive with colour. It was very pleasant to sit around the pool and take a cup of coffee or tea &
for me, a decent cigar. We would certainly recommend the hotel to anyone wanting to tour
the area and the lakes, we visited the various towns around the lake by the different ferries
it is a truly wonderful part of Europe, we also went by local bus to Verona for 8 euros each return, I am always dubious about bus travel abroad by the bus was extremely comfortable and
Verona is well worth a visit. We toured Verona on the open top bus ( which we try and do wherever we go now, they are so informative and such great value )
Try the Hotel Garden you will not be disappointed, we weren`t.

We stayed at this hotel for a week and were very lucky with the weather. The hotel itself is ideally situated being just a short walk from the town of Garda itself and the ferry boat terminus. We had a room at the front (118) with a huge balcony and a gorgeous view over the Lake itself. The hotel surroundings are kept in excellent condition and Luigi Zermini and his staff were all very friendly and welcoming especially the gentleman in the bar of an evening ( whose name I am afraid I have forgotten) who was very chatty and amusing.
We used the ferry boats to visit other areas around the lake including Sirmione, Bardolino, and Desenzano and the service was very efficient and well run.
The food was varied and well presented with an excellent breakfast buffet.
We were treated to a special breakfast as it was our 40th wedding anniversary whilst we were there which was lovely and greatly appreciated.
It was a lovely relaxing week and the pool area and gardens are very clean and well kept and ideal to relax in.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the lake have the best views and lovely balconies. You could sit for ages just watching...

Arrived home from Hotel Garden yesterday and missing it already. We were completely blown away by this fantastic hotel within it's beautiful surroundings the moment we arrived. Mr Zernini and his wonderful staff gave us the warmest of welcomes and made us feel at home the moment we arrived. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the gardens peaceful and very well looked after. My son enjoyed the pool and I'm sure that he would have stayed in there all week! Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they made my son's first trip to Italy, in his words, his best holiday ever! The food at the hotel was wonderful with a new and varied menu each evening, suitable local wines recommended by the staff and a wonderful choice for breakfast each morning. The location was perfect as Lake Garda is only a short walk away with it's bustling, very friendly shops and restaurants. The location was excellent for boat trips on the Lake and also ideally situated for the trips we made to Verona and Venice. The staff at the hotel gave us plenty of information about the local area and trips that they could arrange which was really helpful. We are planning to return and take our parents in 2016 and have no hesitation in recommending Hotel Garden as the perfect place to stay.

From arriving to leaving we felt more like being with friends than just nameless guests.
We cannot add much more than other reviews as to the high standard of the hotel, the
helpful and friendly staff. We have been to other parts of Italy but have fell in love with
Lake Garda. Our trips to Venice and Verona were interesting but getting back at the end
of the day to Hotel Garden sitting out or in the lounge with a glass of wine making friends
was the icing on the cake.
We cannot see that any improvments will make this hotel better
as it is perfect as it is.

Room Tip: we had a room overlooking the hills which we could not fault but have requested a room overlooking...
