Loved our stay here! The location is very picturesque and as it is tucked away from the main town it is quite relaxing. The facilities are impressive, with a day spa and large pool. The drinks at the bar are very affordable and the food in the restaurant is really excellent for a hotel. I was so sad to leave!!

We stayed at this resort for 2 weeks at the end of August,Garda is a fantastic area with beautiful views and great people and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Whilst the resort is probably great for the majority of travellers, we have a 7 year old daughter with a diary intolerance which is something not catered for, even though intolerances are taken into account, this is only for a Glutten Free and Vegetarian diet as we found out on arrival. We had booked half board so we found this part of the holiday particularly challenging. We did try to work with the hotel to ensure my daughters dietary requirements were taken into account and this got better as we went on, mainly due to an embarrassing incident in the restaurant. Mid way through the holiday we complained about a turkey burger for our 7 year old which came with cheese even though this was not on the description, after being told we got what we ordered and pointed out cheese was not mentioned, they reluctantly backed down and sent out another one, but this came out raw with only the rim cooked and raw meat in the middle. Once this incident had taken place our ongoing requests were taken more seriously. Would also suggest not going half board towards the end of season as we did, in the last week after the August bank holiday they seemed to be emptying the cupboards in the kitchen as the menu seemed to consist of only fish and venison. We spent most of the second week eating out elsewhere and i would not go half board again. Although it sounds like a bad experience this was a minor irritation to what was a great holiday. The hotel has some great facilities and most of the staff could nt be more helpful but i would have to question its 4 stars.

There are plenty of positives about this hotel: great location, good free shuttle into garda, close to garda, friendly and helpful receptionist staff, great pool (if a tad bracing) and the spa was great.

The only complaint was to do with the restaurant. The maitre d was distinctly snooty and not very accommodating, the food wasn't anything special and was more expensive than most places in garda. We would recommend eating dinner in garda on the lake's edge. Much nicer and cheaper.

Other than that minor blip we had a great stay here.

We stayed at the resort last week for 6 nights, the first night we arrived and had dinner at the hotel, which was a buffet, the food was excellent. The breakfast buffet was also very good, someone had put on tripadvisor that if you arrived later for breakfast the food ran out, this was definitely not the case, they kept bringing more food out, so there was plenty!
We stayed in a bigger room as we had our 17 year old son with us, the room was a really good size, but unfortunately we had the room above the sliding doors/reception and was woken early each morning by the noise of them opening and closing continuously, apart from that the facilities/swimming pool were excellent and the staff very friendly. Thankyou we will definitely be coming back.

Room Tip: Make sure you don't have the room above the sliding doors!

I'm struggling to understand the complaints I have read as my family and I have recently returned from the Poiano resort Hotel and could find nothing to complain about (except perhaps the lack of free wi-fi). We stayed in rooms 139 and 150, both of which had fantastic views of the lake and mountains, were spacious, comfortable, cleaned on a daily basis and to a high standard. The beds were also changed daily and the sheets were pristine. The resort itself is extensive but immaculate and the staff couldn't do enough to make our stay more comfortable. The shuttle bus was invaluable in enabling us to get to and from Garda without having to take our car - we never had to wait for longer than 15 minutes and the receptionist even sent the bus to pick us up from Garda late one night (the last bus from Garda normally being at 9.45pm and this was at 10.30) when we rang to ask her if she could arrange a taxi for us as we were struggling to communicate in Italian. Whilst the breakfast WAS the same every day, there was plenty of choice and on the one occasion the croissants did run out, we asked the staff if there were likely to be any more and they promptly brought out another hot, fresh basket. The evening menu is also of a high standard and at 28 euros for three courses, (half-price for children) I think, very reasonably priced.

The pool area was immaculate and there were always sunbeds available and activities (such as aqua-aerobics) for those that wanted them. However, the staff were not pushy and the pool never felt noisy or crowded. My sons (20 and 15) very much appreciated having a 50m pool with separate swimming lanes but there was still plenty of space for my 10 year old daughter to have a recreational swim. The evening entertainment consisted of live piano music and a quiet drink in the bar but usually finished by 10.30-11.00pm in the evening so never disturbed my daughter despite us being directly overhead. Perhaps not suitable for those looking for a livelier holiday but Garda IS only a ten minute taxi-ride/drive away and has plenty of bars/restaurants to suit every taste which we found to be very reasonably priced and not at all expensive.

We had expected the Poiano Resort to be good and were in no way disappointed and after having a truly memorable holiday, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone considering staying here.

It was great to be back for our 6th year here and really great to be greeted at reception with "Hello Mr Bryan, nice to see you again" before I had chance to say anything. The staff here are wonderful and it was nice to see all our old friends were still around to care for us. The room was great and the food delicious. There have been changes and additions, like the Spa which looks great and the gardens have been nicely landscaped. We didn't want to leave and are already planning for next year.
