Great family hotel, good location with amazing sports facilities including water polo, handball, archery , football pitch and Olympic sized swimming pool.Staff very friendly, always trying to improve your stay. special thanks to the young bellboy for always making us smile! And the shuttle bus driver who adopted our daughter.Food was excellent the only down side was the waiting time in between courses as it was too long for younger children.Maybe an earlier sitting for children would suit some families better. All in all it was a fantastic holiday, myself my husband, and my two children aged 11 and 2 would recommend it for any age group for a truly Amazing holiday!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a lakeside view as it is very nice at night!

The property is huge with a great view and location. It offers everything you need for a perfect vacation: a big pool with lots of sunbeds.spa, fitness, and playgrounds for kids.tennis and soccer fields. The staff is very friendly and helpfull, and the service at the restaurant is very good. There is a rich breakfast and an all you can eat buffet twice a week for a fixed price. We were there two nights and we travelled a lot around the lake so we could not take advantage of the facilities mainly because their opening hours. The breakfast is served till 10AM , the pool and the fitness opens at 9AM so there,s no time for an early swim or exercise. The rooms are small and basic but are clean. The whole place needs some redesigning it looks much like a retiring home and it shadows a little the place wich has a big potential because of its location.

I have been several times to Garda lake and this time I chose this location not facing the lake but just 15 minutes by car from Garda village. The Poiano resort offers hotel rooms ( with balcony or terrace ) and apartments on a hill side where you can enjoy a refreshing Mediterranean breeze. I was staying in one of those peaceful apartments fully furnished. I found all the place extremely clean with a very helpful staff. Everything you're looking for is there : sports, fun, relax and wellness. In fact you can take advantage of the newly build wellness centre. An olympic-size swiming pool welcomes you in a heveanly setting ( see my pictures ) with brethtaking view over the lake. Then you can find beach volley court, archey field, six clay tennis courts with tennis school, football field ( five-a-side ), kids play-ground, miniclub, game room. On top of that ... kid entertainers. I have tried the restaurant and I can say that food was fine too : the only dark shadow ... a rather poor wine list for a place like that ( and considering we are in Italy ! ). But overall a great place where to spend your holidays.

Room Tip: .. anywhere in the resort ...

We recently spent a week at Poiano in one of their apartments with our two kids- 6 and 9 years old. We had a terrific time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We opted for the apartment as it allowed us to cook our own meals as it included a small kitchenette. There was ample room for all of us as it had two bedrooms and even a trundle/couch. Our apartment had a balcony that looked towards Lake Garda and included a patio table and chairs. Perhaps most importantly, we also had a drying rack for our towels, swimsuits etc. The apartments sit up on a small hill behind reception so it's a small walk down to the swimming pool, restaurant etc. The pool itself was fantastic and we spent most of our time lounging around it while the kids swam. The pool bar/cafe was perfect for lunch or snacks so we didn't have to hike back up to the room. Lake Garda itself is awesome and the town of Garda is down the hill from the resort. It's not a short walk so we decided to use the hotel shuttle one night. It became quickly apparent that demand outweighed the number of shuttles though so be prepared to find a taxi to come home at night. You can call the hotel and they will even call a cab for you. The apartment itself was not super fancy but was well equipped for our needs. It's a bit outdated and tired but again, it served our purposes and was a fantastic bargain. This is definitely a family resort so if you don't want to be around kids, this probably isn't the choice for you.
