Down a secluded alley, with seating in the street, it's not much to look at. But the food and the convivial service are the star attractions at Bella Venezia. The owner/server is a larger-than life fellow, who will greet you with a smile and a complimentary glass of prosecco. The menu is pretty small, as indicated by other reviews, but it makes up in flavor what it lacks in length. We enjoyed the pasta with mixed seafood and the steak with potatoes. Let Gabrio choose your wines, he won't disappoint. Your service will be very leisurely, which will allow you to chat with Gabrio's father and the rest of the retinue that passes by. Quite the experience!

Ate here twice in 10 days and had some of the best food ever. The first day I had pasta and my husband had the steak with potatoes. On our last evening we went back and had the seafood pasta which was probably the best pasta we have ever eaten. The menu is not huge, normally 2 starters and 4 or 5 main dishes, but the German proprietor obviously has a passion for good food and goes out of his way to explain the menu in detail to each table, which is why this is not fast food, it is good food served slowly! If we had just ‘happened’ on this restaurant we would probably have walked on the first visit, having waited half an hour to have the menu explained to us and then another half hour to be served our starter, but we knew this had great reviews so just chilled out over our complimentary drink and bruschetta and watched the very eccentric proprietor in action. If you are in Garda and love good food you MUST give this restaurant a try, go early and make an evening of it, don’t expect to be in and out in an hour. We booked both nights to ensure a table.

Oh my goodness, what a find!! Thanks Trip Advisor reviewers for writing this restaurant up or we never would have found it or tried it. From the moment we arrived in the quaint back alleyway in Garda, the owner (Gabrio), treated us like we were special customers. He sat down and explained in English (he also speaks German) each menu item and how it was prepared and then suggested variations based on comments we made. Gabrio really meant it when he told us that he loved his job and it shows in the food he prepares. I ordered the carbonara and it truly was the best I've ever eaten. My husband had fresh lake fish and was equally happy with his selection. Gabrio then sat with us and had a Mandarincello. Unbelievable and worth taking a few extra minutes to find this quintessentially situated restaurant situated in a small quaint back alley way. If you want lake views, go enjoy a cappuccino at one of the many tourist trap restaurants after a wonderful meal here. I promise you won't be disappointed!

We decided to try this restaurant from reading the reviews on here and we were not disappointed. We approached the restaurant and was greeted by the owner, I explained we had read great reviews and wanted to give it a try, this pleased the man greatly. He sat us down and and gave us each a complimentary glass of white wine before going through each item on the board (there are no menus only specials.) After going through each option in great detail we decided on two pasta dishes, a smoked fish in a tomato sauce with tagliatelle for myself and spaghetti carbonara for my fiancé. Whilst we were waiting we were given complimentary bruschetta with Parma Ham whilst we were waiting, which was delicious. When are food arrived it was as delicious as the owner had boated and went beautifully with the wine. This meal was not only delicious it was fantastic value for money, from start to finish this experience was one that we will definitely be repeating next time we visit Lake Garda.

My wife and I hit upon this place purely by chance having spent the evening wondering around looking for somewhere to eat. Having only arrived in Garda the previous afternoon our experience of our evening meal on our first night in one of the local restaurants was dis-appointing so we were unsure as to what and where to eat.
The Restaurant Bella Venezia is hidden in one of the back streets and we would have missed it if we hadn't investigated. The owner Gabrio was busy at the time explaining the menu to some customers but soon after came to offer us some wine while we joined them in his explanation of the "Menu". This was a board which was hand written with his specialities of the day.
Having decided to eat there we can only recommend his food his choice of wines and reasonable prices and his hospitality.
We returned later in the week taking son and his wife and our grandchild. Three of us had the steak and the other the carbonara. The food was delicious and both my son and his wife were very impressed.
We will return!
