Hotel Orologio was my second home for almost 4 months in 2011. This hotel was just a really nice place to stay. It has probably the most caring staff you can imagine. Always helpful and with a smile. Everything worked perfectly. Good breakfast, daily housekeeping and always a good mood at the hotel. Thanks to all employee because you made my stay perfect.

We had a great stay at Hotel Orologio during our short stay in Ferrara. The price of the room was very reasonable and we booked it throught booking.com. The service was excellent and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The first night we stayed at a room with a wooden floor which we requested prior to our arrival. We did not know that it was different from the photos shown on the website. When we entered the room, we did not like it as it was not what we expected. We spoke with the reception and they said that this was the only room with wooden floor and it was not decorated like the others. All the other rooms were decorated as shown on the photos of the booking.com website. We asked for a change of room but it was fully booked. They offered to change our room the next day. We moved to our new room and we had a pleasant surprise, they gave us the junior suite and we only paid for a standard room. The junior suite was excellent, very spacious, beautifully decorated with nice curtains, wooden beams at the ceiling, a bath tub with hydromassage, a nice balcony, tv etc. We even had an electric kettle for our cappuccino. We thank the staff for the beautiful room they gave us. The location of the hotel is not the best as you need to walk about 20 minutes by foot in order to reach the historic part of Ferrara. You could ask for a free bike from the hotel if you can drive at the right side of the road. Both rooms were very clean and spacious. What we liked most was the excellent breakfast that they offered: cheese, different kinds of bran flakes, muesli, fruits, yoghurt, eggs, cold meats, pastries, cakes. It is the first time that we had such a good breakfast in an italian hotel. The breakfast is served until 11.00 hrs and we recommend that you go for breakfast by 09.30. There is free wi-fi as well as internet access at the lobby. The friendliness and the excellent service of the staff, the junior suite, the breakfast were all great! We will return there again!

Room Tip: Do not ask for a room with a wooden floor as it is not the same as the other rooms that are shown on the pictures on-line. The junior suite is an excellent choice as well as the other standard rooms.

I made reservations through booking.com due to the excellent price and I was then bit scaring as price was really low for 4star hotel. When we arrive hotel appeared to be a nightmare as it is located in not so nice building with various shops and offices. However, when we entered hotel it occured better with very nice service. The biggest surprise we had in the rooms which were fantastic: spacious, nicely decorated with very comfortable bathroom. Wow!
B'fast was a nice selections of cold meets, cheeses, eggs, fruits, pastries and cakes. If you add a excellent Italian cappucino, you shall be glad that you are here.
Hotel is not so far from the historic center but you can rent a bicycle for free from hotel if you do not like walking.

Having completed by business if Ferrara I added an additional four days to my trip for an extended holiday. I moved to Hotel Orologio due to its location near the train station in support of my daily trips to Venice, Florence and Ravenna. The hotel was everything I had read and more - clean, large rooms, large bathroom, private balcony, great service, free internet, free bicycle and a staff eager to assist me. It was a welcomed change after spending the first four nights in a five star rated historic hotel in Ferrara that left me wondering how they received their Realis Chateau rating. Orologio is a real gem for the price.

The hotel was of a good standard, very clean, nice atmosphere and good rooms. The best part being the very reasonable price. The only minor concern was the poor wi-fi access
