“These reviews are astounding.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

I am completely bewildered by the positive reviews of this restaurant! The food was mediocre at best. There is a disclosure on the menu that many of their fish and vegetables are frozen, which was disappointing. My husband's dinner was a house specialty, some sort of baked fish that was banquet room quality. My pasta dish, also a house specialty recommended by our waiter, was bland and underwhelming.

We found the dining options to be lacking in Erice, especially compared to the rest of Sicily and nearby Trapani. We actually regret that we wasted an expensive night out on such an overpriced tourist trap.

“Médiéval courtyard , good, typical Sicilian food with helpful staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2012 via mobile

The food is made with fresh products. We found that it was quite good ( compared to other Restaurants throughout Sicily)with a varied choice on the menu. That is why I am adding my review to the others, since individual tastes vary. The interesting part is that there are two entrances. One on the main street (Vitt Emmanuele) and the other on the side street which permits you to see a typical medieval courtyard with steps leading up to the restaurant. Not to be missed! It is closed Monday. Easy to find. When you are in the main square Piazza Umberto 1 and the tabacci store is behind you just turn left and go down via Vitt. Emanuele. The restaurant will be on your right.

“Excellent value for money and great location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 16, 2012

We loved the terrace looking to the sea, the excellent food in big portions and the kindness of the waiters who offered us even an additional portion of the dessert we liked most! Not the cheapest place for Sicily, but aligned with the prices of the other restaurants in old Erice, with a much better food quality

“Interesting location but standard food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 15, 2012

You need to know about this place, because it is not easy to find. The first night it was closed but we went back the second evening and walked through a serious of courtyards to find ourselves in a beautiful setting. Service was very good - however, the food was nothing to write home about.

“A pleasant spot for lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 14, 2012

The best feature in Monte San Giuliano is, undoubtedly, its location in an old villa, in a backstreet of Erice. The entrance is through alleys full of flowers, that end up in a courtyard with view. A heaven of freshness in a summer day. The food is good as it is the service.
