Hotel Bel Sit
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed February 23, 2013

We returned to the Bel Sit again this year with a group of 8 this time. The hotel continues to provide the same high standards as before with an excellent smile. One member of our group had their birthday this year and the hotel provided a very nice cake and decorated the table with balloons for the evening.

When we arrived the ski hire shop was closed for lunch, but the helpful staff rang the shop and got them to open up for us to get our skis and be out on the slopes as quickly as possible.

Have already booked a return visit.

We found the hotel to be very well run, cheerful and friendly staff and a very helpful attitude like using minibus to go round ski rental shop, skipass office and set down at lifts when we arrived. Rooms very clean, wellness centre well run and good facilities. Of course, the hotel is out of town, but this is reflected in the price. Overall, we would be happy to reccomend this hotel and will be returning later in the season with a group of friends and have no reservations about introducing them to the Bel Sit.

Room Tip: If you want the window open at night the rooms at the front of the hotel can suffer from traffic noi...

The hotel is located on a main road out of the town. This did'nt cause too much of a problem getting to the lifts as the hotel runs a minibus for a couple of hours in the morning, except that the bus only takes 8 passengers and we were a party of 16 so some mornings there was quite a wait with other guests for the bus to do its 15 minute return trip. The main problem was the evenings when we all wanted to go out. A few times we asked the hotel to drop us in, but we had to make our own way back along treachurously icy footpaths. There is a bus stop opposite but the buses stop running at 8.30.

The hotel was lovely. We had superior rooms which were extremely comfortable. Our bathroom did not have a bath though.
Others in the party had standard rooms which seemed fairly basic. Very handy having a safe and fridge in the room.

Food was pleasant in the evenings, but the serve yourself
salads quickly ran out and the staff were very slow to replenish them. Breakfast was ok, but a real effort to order a coffee. This happened to everyone in the party every morning. The staff seemed to look at you and then rush off. Very frustrating.

The family that run the hotel are extremely pleasant and helpful.

I imagine the location of the hotel makes it a bit cheaper and this would not be a problem if you either have a car or are not worried about going out in the evening. In the summer I would imagine the stroll along the river would be extremely pleasant.

All in all a very nice, comfortable hotel but a slight problem with the location for us.

Have just returned from a weeks skiing and stayed at the Hotel Bel Sit, Corvara and we cannot recommend this place enough. The hotel is nicely decorated throughout, our standard room was a good size and very clean and had a fridge (would advise taking a travel kettle and some tea bags if you're very English!). Well organised ski room with heated boot rack. The hotel is on a main road and this may put people off but it wasn't a problem for us. If you enjoy your apres-ski it's opposite the local bus stop as well with it's late night service. It's about a 15 minute walk from town centre, however the hotel, free, regular mini-bus service drops you off outside the main ski lifts in the morning and picks you up in the evening. They even dropped us off and picked us up in the town centre.
The food is very good and we didn't miss not trying other restaurants, in fact it's the first ski holiday we've put weight on!
I wait for the snow reports before booking our skiing holiday, however my preference will be to return to Corvara and Hotel Bel Sit.

I read about Hotel Bel Sit on this very website and thought we should give it a try. We visited July 26 - July 28, 2006 . . passing through northern Italy. We absolutely LOVED this hotel. It is modern and clean - and the wellness center was very enjoyable. We weren't sure we'd like the HALF BOARD option but the quality and caliber of the meals is wonderful! We looked forward to sight seeing/hiking all day and returning for a wonderful meal. You won't feel you're missing out re: other resturants in the area. The staff is very helpful and the room was very clean and pleasant. The hotel is on a main road - but it didn't bother us at all. It's easy to find & well worth the stay! One night the staff invited the guests for a welcome cocktail and appetizers in the courtyard. We thoroughly enjoyed all the Corvara area had to offer (the refugio at Laguzoi is a must see - make sure you have or rent headlamps and tour the tunnels).

We HIGHLY RECOMMEND Hotel Bel Sit!

We have just returned from a wonderful week at the Hotel Bel Sit, Corvara and would have no heistation in recommending it. The hotel was renovated/extended last year and features new bathrooms with powerful showers, a wellness room located in the basement. The hotel is exceptionally clean, rooms a good size all with fridges. Recommend taking a travel kettle. The wellness room has whirlpool, sauna, turkish bath and relaxation area and dressing gowns can be hired for 2 euros a day. The staff are extremely friendly, restaurant excellent. We had two themed eveinings, one for Valentines and then another regional evening -both with six course dinner. Although the hotel is situated 15 mins walk from the town centre there is a mini bus which takes you in to the town or ski school at regular set times, but in addition you can ask to be taken in at other times. If you dont speak Italian take a dictionary as a few staff do not speak English at all. The resort of Corvara itself is wonderful, incredibly picturesque, long ski runs in all directions and even during half term week was not too busy. We will definitely be returning.
