“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2013 via mobile

We really enjoyed our stay with colletts in chalet bracun. Love the alpine style furnishings and comfortable beds.
Stayed self catering and the apartment was more than adequate to meet our needs. Nice little bar downstairs and very friendly staff all round.
Would recommend to anyone.

Stayed here in July 2013 in a self-catering apartment with 4 of us as part of a Colletts holiday. During the summer season (and maybe the winter too), Colletts take over the hotel and only the bar and sauna are run by the owners.

The bedrooms were reasonable size but not very clean (this would be down to Colletts rather than the hotel owners. The sitting room of the apartment was not at all comfortable - there was a table with a bench seat on two sides with 3 other rather hard chairs. The other seating was a sofa that was a sofa bed, and this was hard as a rock as a sofa. Also, this sitting room was linked to one of the two bedrooms, so that the occupants of the second bedroom felt a bit as if they were intruding into the first bedroom when using the sitting room/kitchen.

They also could only supply you with one key per bedroom, which was a pain - the occupants of the first bedroom had to leave their door open if they were out so that we in the second bedroom could get into the sitting room.....

Another negative - the wellness suite. It is only open on two nights a week between 4pm and 6pm and you have to pre-book. And even with that, the second time we used it, it was only barely warm.

On the good side - the shower was pretty good by the standards of the hotel, plenty of hot water and good pressure. The room was good sized with sufficient storage. The beds were adequately comfortable although the linen has seen a lot of use.

We were self catering, but the breakfasts supplied by Colletts seemed to be enjoyed by the other guests. Evening meals were without a choice, but good sized portions and included wine - but at 18 Euro a person a night, you could get much better food elsewhere. If you prefer to choose what you eat and are happy without a 3 course meal, you will get nice pasta or pizza with wine elsewhere for around 15 euro a night.

Room Tip: Avoid a room above the kitchen - the staff can be noisy below you.

Stayed here in July 2012 through Colletts. Room 1 in the basement has unreliable hot water - usually between cold and tepid. Problem raised with Colletts, who raised it with owner who sadly was disinterested

I've stayed at this nice and recently renovated Garni in Corvara for 4 nights.
The hotel is located near the city center (about 800 meters from La Perla hotel) and it's very nice. Rooms are clean with the typical mountain ambiance and a very nice view form terrace.
Breakfast is good! The bar and the restaurant are very cozy.
The wellness area is new and really nice with sauna, steam room, solarium and rest area.
Good quality and very good price!

Stayed here in July 2010 with Colletts who ran the Chalet as a Catered Chalet ie they cooked the meals for all the guests and you eat together.
The room was fantastic, we just had one of their standard rooms and yet had our own floor it felt like as we had our own individual set of stairs to get to the room. The room isnt that big, but does have a very good sized balcony, enough for 2 deckchairs and 2 chairs and a table as well - and has a great view over the Sella Group. The standard of the room is what you would expect from an Austrian room, lots of wood but all in a very good condition and impeccable.
The bed was two twins pushed together and so was as a result a very large double and didnt even feel like there was much of a join.

The chalet has a room downstairs where a great breakfast is served and you can also have a drink there during the day/evening if you wish. The chalet is located at the bottom of the village, perhaps 5 mins or so walking to get to the top - so not exactly far!

The only downside was that the sauna isnt open into the evening so you miss out on some of the afternoon if you wish to use it which isnt very good. Overall though I would definitely go back to this place if I returned to Corvara.

Just OK. The sauna (Turkish Bath is out of order) is open from 4pm - 6pm daily on request, and Maria is there at 6pm to lock up!! Not quite in the centre of Corvara so it is worth checking others first.

The beds were a let down - advertised as traditional Austrian beds, the duvets were thin and lumpy and the springs pushed through the mattress.
