“one michelin star? really????”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 16, 2011

Well the only good thing about this restaurant is its rustic-alpine ambience. The staff is polite and helpful but the food..... terrible. Other plates are too salty, others not at all. inside the fish we found its bones! unforgivable to any restaurant. the ravioli had such an excess of oil that resembled like islands inside a sea of oil. the asparagus were probably from a can, the pastries were not fresh at all(maybe because they were complimentary). i liked the espresso and the wine (!). are you kidding us? who the ^&*#!@ gave to this place licence to kill? (eg a michelin star - 150 euros per person)

“The finest Italian dining Cortina has to offer”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 11, 2011

If you want to experience the finest Italian dining Cortina has to offer, don't miss Tivoli. We went even though our hotel includes dinner (which is better than good), and it costs us 25 euros for taxi, it's worth every penny. From menu (creative but not weird) to service(impeccable) to presentation (artistic) to the food itself (beyond superlatives), everything is excellent. Even though it may appear more expensive than other restaruants, it's a bargain compared to similarly rated restaurant of that quality in big cities in Europe and N, America. Try the traditional gourmet menu or 6 course chef's menu - Highly recommended!!

“1-star Michelin and well-deserved - Truly remarkable!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 26, 2008

Outstanding gem of a restaurant - I cannot say enough good things about it as we had a dinner so perfect in every way (food, service, ambience) that it was simply impossible to find any fault. Entering the restaurant was like stepping into a charming mountain chalet which offered a refined, intimate and elegant atmosphere. We had a table by the window overlooking the spectacular valley and mountains, as it was a bit chilly to sit outside on the terrace. The delicious home-baked bread was a positive start. We ordered the 6-course tasting menu. We were then served a pre-starter of prawns in a porcini mushroom purée, and they brought warm homemade bread so that you could scoup up the delicious purée (nice touch). The courses that followed was one delicious surprise after another; each beautifully presented and cooked to perfection that left us looking forward to the next course. The delicate and intricate flavours brought out the freshness of the ingredients: be it the sweetness of the lobster tartare, the soy sauce used to condiment the succulent scallops, or the tender fillet of deer- even the homemade potato mayonaise was noteworthy. One can tell every single detail on every dish has been meticuously prepared.

The Chef came to our table after the 5th course to ask how we are finding everything so far. We paid our compliments, then we were given the Chef's recommendation on desserts. Dessert was a serious affair at Tivoli, as we were served a pre-dessert, our chosen dessert, then a post-dessert!

The prices were not unreasonable considering this is a 1-star Michelin restaurant in Cortina. This is an exemplary gourmet restaurant of excellent quality - top marks in every respect. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

“nothing special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 5, 2008

Well, this place is defenetily overpriced. We expected more for so much money. The service was so so , the food was good but nothing to die for. The desert was the best part of the dinner.
I wouldn' t go back.
