I had an excellent stay in the Hotel Columbia in a group of 4 motorcyclists for 1 night in July 13 - the hotel and service were excellent. The rooms were spacious, very well fitted and immaculately presented. Situated within easy walking distance of the town. Outstanding views from our two rooms.

This was our second visit to this hotel and we were again very pleased with our stay. This hotel sits alongside the road from Cortina to Passo Falzarego and is a relatively easy ten to fifteen minute walk from the town centre although there is no footpath and the traffic can be a bit intimidating. The hotel is family run and the staff are extremely pleasant and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable and despite the hotel's roadside position was very quiet. The use of a car is pretty much essential if you want to take advantage of the ski areas beyond the Tofana area. It can be accessed by a short walk to one of the pistes and a ski down to the Tofana cable-car station but is dependent on adequate snow cover. The breakfast was adequate but could be improved by the provision of some minor changes e.g. fresh fruit salad rather than tinned but overall this hotel, for Cortina, represents very good value for money.

The hotel is designed as an old fashioned alpine hotel, lovely painted wooden furniture and doors, and decorations. While its location may not be right in the middle of the town, it takes only 10-15 minutes to walk to the main square. The view from the room is breathtaking, each room with its own balcony, and breakfast offers a wide selection, with coffee made per order (not your usual machine-made coffee). The only partially negative comment I can make is that the mattresses were too firm for our liking, and made us wake up several times during the night.

The rooms were pretty poor, and tired and worn. Upon arrival the rooms were very musty smelling, so it was a bonus to have a small balcony so the doors could be opened to air the room. Whilst the desk staff provided all information requested when asked, they didn't volunteer information willingly, including breakfast time and location and wi-fi info. It is also a bit misleading to state plenty of hotel parking, there seemed to be at least 3 times as many rooms as there were parking spaces, we were fortunate and managed to get parked up, but other guests had to park on the road. I would also agree with other reviews in respect of the walk into town being a bit precarious as no paths. Would I stay here again? No, there seemed to be much nicer hotels available, and this hotel was very overpriced.
