“Best value 4 star hotel in Cortina”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 18, 2011

We just came back from 1 wk of fantastic skiing in Cortina. Hotel Majoni (pronounced Mayoni) is incredible. Very friendly service from the manager and his team. The manager even reduced the already low price for us because we noticed the internet price has gone down since we booked. Location is great - the ski bus stop is just outside our ski locker. Food is absolutely marvellous - breakfast buffet from 8-10am, and dinner buffet from 8-9pm, which are all included in the room rate. We had some fantastic antipasto, the best mushroom risotto in town, unbelievably delicious quails, grilled whole fish and osso bucco with GIANT mushrooms. The food exceeded all our expectations, and more. I don't know how they can offer everything at such low price, which is less than half of similarly rated hotels.
We would never have found this hotel on our own as they don't advertise a lot. Thank you tripadvisor reviewers for bringing this hotel to our attention. You will not find better value for your money!!

we went to this hotel for skiing.the food very good.the location in the center.the manager very very very rude(except the two days his boss was there).one examble is that i had in my room a present for my brother, the lady who cleans the room propably by mistake throw it away(i dont want to believe that someone steal me)and when i tell it to the manager he told me that i will find it back home (in a very ironic mood as always)and continow with a "vai fac...lo" in my boyfriends back when he asked him if he asked about the present .with this manager(no hair, glasses)had also problem a servian couple and another greek couple.i think that politeness is very important for a good hotel!!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Majoni! This hotel is in a very central location, has very nice and comfortable amenities, and the staff is wonderful! The breakfast and dinner is perfect for a full day of skiing and after living in Italy we were very impressed with the wide selection of foods. The Hotel manager was very helpful and professional and gave us tremendous assistance in getting our rental car fixed. I defnitely recommend this Hotel for a stay in Cortina!

  • Liked — The friendly service and breakfast
  • Disliked — The heat in the rooms was overwhelming but could be avoided by leaving windows/doors open while sleeping.

We have just come back from a fantastic week at the hotel and i wanted to acknowledge the kindness and warmth of the staff towards my husband and i and our 11 month old baby. We had a bad experience with the childcare we had booked the first day and Vincent the hotel manager contacted a babysitter who took such wonderful care of him while we could go skiing safe in the knowledge he was looked after well and happy. Vincent also took it upon himself to ensure he was fed like a proper italian bambino and we were not charged for his food or that of the babysitter. it is not often you get something for nothing these days! The waiting and bar staff are very professional but warm and welcoming. The hotel is lovely, the food is excellent. It is right in the middle of town and the ski bus stops outside the door. What more could you ask for? We would highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

We stayed here for the first and last nights of a week-long trek in the Dolomites. The hotel has a very Italian atmosphere. The staff were extremely helpful. They kept our suitcases for us whilst we were away and let us keep the car in the hotel car park.

The rooms are small. They are spotless and the beds comfortable. Satellite TV and mini-bar in the room.

The buffet breakfast and dinner were worthy of a 5* establishment.

At €140 for half-board for 2, this is excellent value.

The hotel is conveniently situated near the pedestrian area and is on the main street on the right when you are coming from Venice. Very easy to find.

I would definitely stay here again.

Average room sizes but excellent value single room options which can connect with double rooms yielding an excellent living space. Our room in front of hotel seemed dark on evening arrival, but the next morning - what a view! The hotel looks out on the beautiful pink granite peaks behind the socrepes ski area and each morning this becomes progressively illuminated from the peak down by the rising sun.
Food is absolutely splendid: typically Italian and huge choice: I would especially recommend the filled pastas as one of the evening meal courses.
Clientelle is about 80% Italian with lots of extended families in residence especially on the weekends. This does result in lots of Italian children racing around the public areas until 10pm or later - not really a problem as they were charming and well behaved.
The hotel is very convenient for the ski bus and close enough to the main street to make participating in the daily "passegiata" between 7 and 8pm very easy.

The staff at the Majoni couldn't have been more helpful. There is a ski shop across the street that offers a 10% discount to hotel residents and the buses that circulate Cortina, taking skiers to the various slopes, pick up outside the hotel. We stayed for 4 nights with a breakfast & dinner buffet included and we ate very well indeed.Piles of seafood, every type of meat, salads, lovely soups and fresh fruits and deserts. The service was excellent and the hotel is spotless. Each night,in the lounge and bar, people play cards and chat,it's a nice atmosphere and they have some good grappa too. Most of the guests were Italian but the staff, especially at reception, spoke good English.Cortina is a very pretty town with good skiing and we would stay at the Majoni again. We flew to Treviso & travelled up by train and bus from Venice, with hindsight we would have hired a car for 4 days to get to & from the airport and to get to the different slopes. The train though is 7 euros! Specify if you want a double bed. Some rooms have balconies. The skiing is good for all standards, including little kids and the instructors are excellent. We had blue skies for 4 days,it was really good.
